Bury Tomorrow Premiere New Song & Music Video “More Than Mortal”

Bury Tomorrow‘s new official music video for their track “More Than Mortal” has premiered and can be streamed below. It’s the third song to surface from the group’s fifth studio effort, “Black Flame“, which is out in stores now.

The group’s bassist Davyd Winter-Bates commented of this latest video:

“The idea of the video came from taking the theme of the song to its ultimate progression. The exploitation of the the masses from celebrity and corporation is portrayed as its own pseudo-future religion and the Black Flame are here to bring it down. We wanted it to feel disorienting and nightmarish, physically showing the “lifting of the veil” on celebrity culture exposing the exploitation and removing its power on those it preys on.

It was insanely fun working closely with the creative team on this one to do something different for us and the performances from Charity Kase and the rest of the actors are next level. The song has already become a fan favourite from Black Flame so we’re very excited to bring that to life visually as well.”

Solace Of Requiem Partners With Kid’s Charities

Technical blackened death metal trio Solace Of Requiem has announced a partnership with various charities that help promote arts, education, music and free-thought to children in need. The band will donate 10% of all online clothing sales to one of the following – The Dreaming Zebra Foundation, Camp Quest or the International Child Art Foundation. Members of Solace Of Requiem explain in further detail in the following statement:

It is with extreme pleasure that we can finally say that Solace Of Requiem will now be donating 10% of all online clothing sales towards three wonderful children’s charities. We wanted to give our “secular” support to Science and The Arts and we are delighted to say that we have found three charities that fit that criteria perfectly.

But before we tell you about the charities, we’re going to tell you a little bit about how this works. Firstly, the 10% donation is non negotiable. If you buy an article of clothing from our Online Store, 10% of that money is going to one of those three charities for kids, whether you like it or not.

The next thing you need to know is that when you select the size and quantity of your order, you will see an additional drop-down menu that will give you the list of three charities you have to choose from. It is your choice which of the three charities your 10% will be donated to. However, if you choose not to select one of the charities before making your purchase, your 10% will be automatically donated to our default charity.

We’ll tell you more about who that default is really soon. First we’d like to tell you about how the money will be handled. PayPal will not be involved in any of the transactions. However, you will have the donation accounted for on your bill and receipt from PayPal. Once every 3 months, we will tally all the numbers and make a donation to each charity accordingly. This ensures that the 10% you have donated will not be taxed on our end and the full dollar amount of your percentage will be given to the charity you have chosen.

Wow! Sure glad all that’s out of the way! Now we can tell you a little bit more about the charities. First up is our default choice. In other words, if you don’t make a selection on the charity drop-down menu, then your 10% will go to these guys by default. And this prestigious title goes to none other than The Dreaming Zebra Foundation.

For those of you not familiar with TDZF, they are an international organization that is dedicated to bringing art and music to unfortunate children all over the globe. Some kids they help have never even seen a crayon, let alone a musical instrument. Who knows what Salvador Dalí or Pablo Picasso lives in a place with no damn crayons?! There just so happens to be plenty of places with no crayons, so that’s why they need your help.

Next up we have a place that we personally felt brought the whole idea together. Without them, it wouldn’t be nearly as awesome for us as it is now that we get to write Camp Quest will be on our unholy trinity of charities. If you have never heard of Camp Quest, we strongly encourage you all to take a look. CQ provides residential summer camps for the children of atheists, freethinkers, secular humanists, and humanists.

Their mission is to instill certain values in children, such as integrity, empathy, creativity, critical thinking, and community. CQ has camps in various location in the United States, as well one in the UK and one in Switzerland. There also happens to be one in our beloved frontman’s hometown of Tidewater, Virginia.

Last, but certainly not least, our third and final charity to receive our heathen support is the International Child Art Foundation. ICAF is known for the many things in regard to bringing art to more unfortunate children. However, there’s one thing that these guys do that really makes us want to help them in their honorable cause and that is that they work mainly with children that have suffered through natural disasters, catastrophes and even war.

These guys do all they can to bring art and its education to children all over the world and we are very proud to be one of their supporters. Now we only have one piece of the puzzle that’s missing. YOU! So get off your ass and go help these kids and yourself by picking up some Solace Of Requiem merchandise.

HAIL SCIENCE

Last month, Solace Of Requiem released its fourth slab of extremity, “Casting Ruin,” via ViciSolum Productions. Stream the whole release below.

SickDrummer.com Addresses Issues Surrounding The Death To All Tour

Sick Drummer Magazine has issued an update entitled “The Current Situation Surrounding The Death To All Tour” pertaining to online rumors and talk surrounding the tour. The Death To All tour was a five-city tour featuring a majority of DEATH’s musicians, as well as special guests to celebrate the life and music of Chuck Schuldiner, as well as to raise awareness of Sweet Relief Musicians Fund – a charity that provides financial assistance to career musicians faced with illness, disability or age-related problems. Here’s what Sick Drummer had to say:

We have seen everything online regarding the Death To All Tour and the negative light being shined upon us. There are always two sides to every story and we assure you that we did nothing more than tried to the best of our abilities to put on a great tour for all involved. The tour was (from what we understand) one of the best shows the majority of those who attended have ever seen, but unfortunately the tour just did not make as much money as originally projected.

As for the talk of VIP merch orders not being filled or money from merch orders being held, we never held that money at all, as it was collected by a third party and all the post-tour orders have shipped. We personally made replies on the DTA facebook regarding the post-tour merch orders and when they all shipped, but are no longer able to post on that page as we have been removed, even though we created it. Regarding the CD/LP for the VIP package holders, if our recordings are never able to be released, we have another exclusive item to make it up to all of you.

The Atlanta and Dallas dates that were postponed were changed to cancelled so that general admission/VIP ticket holders could get their refunds if they wanted them, rather than wait for new dates. We always had the intent of making up those shows. If you have not received a VIP package refund for those dates, please send us a message and we will take care of you in short order.

We can assure you that everyone on the tour has received full or partial payment and we have entered into individual agreements to resolve all payments remaining. As far as Sweet Relief is concerned, they will receive the full amount that was originally pledged, based on the agreement we have in place with them. We are the only ones to walk away from this tour making nothing and that’s fine with us. We lost money on the tour and to imply otherwise is simply false.

We have spent the last 4 years promoting music for next to nothing and know our true fans understand our dedication, loyalty and sacrifice. Seeing recent posts on facebook pages and other websites that have garnered physical threats of violence against us, is both shocking and sad. Were there mistakes made? yes, there are mistakes made on most tours. Do tours fail on a regular basis? yes. Was this a huge tour to put together? yes. Do we deserve to have violent threats made against us? absolutely not.

In the end we are still happy and honored to have been the ones to conceive, create and bring this tour to all the fans that were able to see it. We stand by all of our commitments/responsibilities and have never ventured from that ground.

To this, Eric Grief commented on Death’s official Facebook page:

OK – I guess I shall now do a press release of my own on what actually happened with Sick Drummer Magazine and the DEATH TO ALL Tour (tomorrow). Stuff like the fact they never gave the charity Sweet Relief ONE PENNY, despite claiming that 20% of ticket sales & merch would go straight to Sweet Relief – they owe close to $30K and think a promise to pay somehow puts them in the clear! Or that they gave a bit of cash to the musicians and then handed them all bouncing checks in Orlando. Or that they never paid a nickel to us (the Schuldiners). Or that they haven’t given ten cents to the booking agency. Oh, and they owe the crew money, too. They refused to relinquish their ‘claim’ on the name DEATH TO ALL. How mega pathetic – and all in Chuck’s name. This has been an awful time.
