Nightrage Posts New Single “The Damned” Online

Nightrage is back with their second single, “The Damned”, from their upcoming album “Wolf To Man” where the band invites us to a mesmerizing melodic musical journey, telling the truthful story that guides us all the way to the inevitable demise of mankind. The music delivers a delicate and well-balanced blend between brutality and melody, and also an intricate mix of thrashing riffs, airy instrumentals and hooking choruses to bang your fists to. “The Damned” will be released February 1st via Despotz Records.

“Humans have given up on living for real and now just live for next cheap thrill not giving a shit how to make it to the next day. It’s more important to have many “likes” on social media then it is to take care of or interact with the ones living around you. We and our bodies are just empty shells now losing the last of our damned souls to the cheap thrill of fake life online. It’s our own fault. Hate us and blame us. We are the damned!” – Nightrage

This relentless story of extinction is told with as much aggression as there is intriguing and mesmerizing melodies. Memorable hooks and some of the catchiest choruses that metal has seen in decades, does nothing to compromise the brutality and honesty that Nightrage is known for.

–olive/black marbled vinyl + download card (limited to 200 copies – EU exclusive)
* exclusive bundles with a shirt, plus digital options are also available!

With roots in 60s psychedelia and classic rock, the fuzzy stoner riffs of the 70s, the grit of 90s grunge and the winning dirty rock n’ roll that has in recent years made a resurgence, Gozu has been churning out killer records since 2009. With 2016′s Revival they took their sound in a somewhat new and more aggressive direction, and in doing so, dropped the most compulsive, exciting and downright badass release of their career – and Equilibrium has only raised the stakes. “We wanted these songs to hit a nerve, make people shake their ass and enjoy simply being alive,” says vocalist/guitarist Marc “Gaff” Gaffney, who founded the band with lead guitarist Doug Sherman. Much of the record’s strength stems from the unit growing since Revival, the first full-length featuring drummer Mike Hubbard and bassist Joseph Grotto. Having also reunited with Revival producer Dean Baltulonis (Hatebreed/Goes Cube/The Hold Steady) at Wild Arctic Studio in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the record is certainly the catchiest and most instant music dropped by the quartet, embracing their love of pop music but without compromising on any of the other vital elements of their sound.

Equilibrium track-listing:
1. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat
2. The People vs. Mr. T
3. King Cobra
4. Manimal
5. They Probably Know Karate
6. Prison Elbows
7. Stacy Keach
8. Ballad of ODB

Gozu line-up:
Marc Gaffney – guitar and vocals
Joe Grotto – bass
Mike Hubbard – drums
Doug Sherman – lead guitar and sounds

“It’s time to reveal the second single taken from our upcoming release. Mostly instrumental, Hallucinatory Authorization will take you on a cold dark journey in the realm of the Alien franchise.

Cardiac Arrest Inks Deal With Razorback Recordings

A foreboding covenant dripping with darkness and dread has been sealed that will bring together splatter metal label Razorback Recordings and the punishingly perverse Illinois act Cardiac Arrest.

2014 will now see to the unleashing of the band’s fifth and most foul album to date, “And Death Shall Set You Free.” Razorback Records comments:

“Formed deep in the black infamy-choked bowels of Chicago in the late ‘90s, Cardiac Arrest has been a known associate of Razorback’s for years and, while the two camps had bonded over their shared obsessions with all things horror and metal, they never worked together – until now!

“Releasing their four previous albums elsewhere, the fearsome foursome of Midwest metal maniacs continue their legacy of death metal brutality with ‘And Death Shall Set You Free’ and the ten cruel scythe cuts of horror-weltered cacoffiny offered therein, with such aural atrocities as ‘There Is No Escape,’ ‘Bridge Burner,’ and ‘Rise! Part Man, Part Beast.’

“While the new album will be the catchiest yet, it will still be as unforgivingly heavy as a sledgehammer to the skull. And it is coming for YOU in the late Summer or early Fall of 2014 … You have been warned! ‘Til then, as those abominable gore-adorers who are Cardiac Arrest always proclaim … ROT FOREVER!”

God Forbid To Release New Album "Equilibrium"

God Forbid is preparing to release a sixth full-length album and Victory debut, “Equilibrium,” on March 26th. The forthcoming effort was produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel), Jason Suecof (Bury Your Dead, Chimaira) and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth).

“With the new album, we focused on writing tight, hook-y metal songs,” commented guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle on the creative process for Equilibrium, “There are some really fast, super heavy, groovy songs – some of the catchiest, most melodic songs we’ve ever written. We wanted a modern, but organic-sounding album that was tight but still captured the intensity of the band. The album sounds huge!”

Coyle went on to speak about the overall theme of the album, “The title of the album says it all – it’s about finding your way when you’re lost. The lyrics come from a very personal, very real place. The recurring lyrical theme is about the everyday struggles of life and what it takes to persevere and follow your dreams.”

God Forbid’s solidified line-up, newly managed under World Entertainment’s Alexander Ford and Gunter Ford, includes lead vocalist Byron Davis, guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle, bassist John “Beeker” Outcalt, Corey Pierce on drums and newest member Matt Wicklund on guitar. The band will support “Equilibrium” with heavy touring. Pre-orders and package deals for “Equilibrium,” featuring brand new merch, are now available here.

God Forbid will debut brand new material at the following upcoming headlining shows in February:

Feb. 18 – Brooklyn, NY – St. Vitus
Feb. 24 – Clifton, NJ – Dingbatz

Hooded Menace Enters The Studio To Record "Effigies Of Evil"

Finnish death / doom bringers Hooded Menace have entered the studio to record their new album and first for Relapse Records. The new record, entitled “Effigies of Evil,” is being self-recorded by the band at its very own Horrisound Studios, the group’s personal compound of stench and decay.

Drums are being tracked at SF Sound and the band plans to complete recording in mid February for a Summer 2012 release.

Hooded Menace, which takes influence from 80’s era Candlemass, Cathedral, Paradise Lost, Asphyx, and Black Sabbath, has previously release two full length albums as well as split releases with Coffins, Asphyx, Ilsa, and more.

Hooded Menace guitarist Lasse Pyykko commented on the new recordings: “This album is the catchiest stuff we’ve done so far. On average it’s slightly faster (read: more mid-tempos) and a bit more melodic than the previous records but as always there’s still an unhealthy dose of down-tempo horror hammering. It’s crushingly heavy, dark and graceful music in all its gory glory!”
