Kiss Bassist Gene Simmons Banned From Fox News

Kiss bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has been banned from appearing on Fox News again after he disrupted a meeting at the station. Simmons was there to promote his new book, “On Power: My Journey Through The Corridors Of Power And How You Can Get More Power,” when he reportedly barged into a staff meeting and shouted, “Hey chicks! Sue me!” before lifting up his shirt, telling jokes about Michael Jackson and paedophilia, hurling insults and tapping people on the head with his book. He was reported to the human resources department and promptly banned from the building for life.

Ancient VVisdom Premiere New Video For “Light Of Lucifer” From Upcoming New Album “XYYY”

The occult rock act in Ancient VVisdom are pleased to unveil the official new visual accompaniment to the track “Light Of Lucifer” from their recently-issued “33” full-length.

Watch the video below:

The clip, shot in a historically haunted auditorium, is currently playing at BrooklynVegan. Notes Nathan “Opposition” Jochum, “We filmed at one of the most haunted places in Ohio in an auditorium referred to by some as a ‘vortex’ or ‘portal to hell’ at the House Of Wills, which is the current location of The New Church Of Satan in Cleveland. Owner, good friend of mine, and Satanic High Priest Eric Freeman allowed us to take part in this ritual and capture the House’s energy. 49,000 square feet of decaying beauty, this building is still rich with history as it was an African American Masonic mortuary for many years prior to Eric taking ownership. The house needs many repairs after being abandoned and stripped, so I volunteer my time whenever I am available to help restore this once magnificent historic building. Eric has dedicated his life to the restoration. Ghost tours and paranormal investigations available upon request.”

King Diamond Splits With Hal Patino

King Diamond, who recently announced a North American Tour for this fall (the first full fledged tour since his triple bypass surgery over three years ago), has fired long time bassist Hal Patino.

In an announcement on Facebook, King stated: “Hal Patino has been relieved of his duties with King Diamond, for reasons very similar to why he was fired from the band in 1990. This will have NO negative impact on our upcoming shows whatsoever. On the contrary.”

Patino is expected to make a statement on the situation later today via Facebook, where his latest post reads: “Hal Patino Leaves King Diamond! An official statement will be announced later today on why I’ve decided to leave the King Diamond band.”

King Diamond is currently working on a new album, the first in seven years (2007’s “Give Me Your Soul….Please”). The album is slated for release sometime in 2015, as King will await the building of his home studio in order to start recording.

The North American tour is set to commence on October 11th in Atlanta.

Mire Releases New Album “Inward/Outward”

Two years in the making, Montreal, QC’s Mire is proud to announce the official release of new album “Inward/Outward” today.

The album is based on the band’s personal experiences ranging from the study of cognitive science to a military stint in Afghanistan and can be heard below or purchased digitally on a name-your-price basis at Bandcamp here. Vocalist JP LaChapelle comments on the release:

“Interpreted through our fingers, tongued and toe tips, this album which we’ve been working on for 2 years at totally different points in our lives, demonstrates the fan of emotions of 5 individuals’ experience.

“The craft is the loom into which our soil-tending, sun-vising and pest-warding efforts bear fruit. Love for the fate of man and the anger to defend it. Overwhelmed with a sense of innate creativity, we all curb our nature to the structures put in place for our short lives; whether building an enterprise, community or institution of any kind. MIRE’s decided to make music. Filtered as pure as possible, our passion rendered this product. Our maiden album expresses the plight of an impeached animal nature, faced with the philosophy of man’s fate run through questionable funnels.

“Throughout our creative process, we’ve experienced different stages and shed skins. The 5 colors we shine combine through the prism of ‘Inward Outward’ to produce the first of MIRE’s own hues. Being able to walk one’s own path is its own reward and we five musicians feel incredibly fortunate to have seized the chance to create this album. That’s what we celebrate every time we hear it.”

HOD Wrapping Up Work On New Album "Book Of The Worm"

The San Antonio blackened death metal miscreants in HOD are putting the final touches on their upcoming new full-length. Titled “Book Of The Worm,” the follow-up to 2009’s “Serpent” features nine tracks of molten metal riffs and sonic decay.

Comments vocalist Vladibeer Reebs: “With Serpent, we were five guys with some ideas. Now we’re a cohesive unit with an agenda. You can feel the energy, hate, and anger in the tracks on Book Of The Worm. In the end, whether it’s Serpent, Book of the Worm, or any future album, it’s all gonna be Fuckin’ Metal! That’s all we know. That’s all we do. That’s all we are.”

The band, which is currently seeking a proper label home, recently posted some new music in the form of “Awakening Blasphemous Abominations.” Taste the evil right here.

In the meantime, HOD will bring apocalyptic hymnals to the stage for a short run of rituals beginning September 7th along with Vektor (and others) in San Antonio. Later that month, HOD will play the Building Temples From Death Fest II in Houston featuring an unholy lineup of Disgorge, Putrid Pile, Dehumanized, Embalmer and over a dozen more. In October, the band will open for Skeletonwitch in San Antonio before embarking on a five-date road trip with Canadian black metal horde, Panzerfaust.

Born Of Chaos Records Comments On Bomb Threat To Trocadero Theatre Prior To Label Showcase

Born of Chaos Records has issued the following statement about a bomb threat being called in prior to the label’s showcase last night:

“As many of you may or may not know, there was a bomb threat sent in to the police, the news and the Trocadero in Philly last night prior to our Born of Chaos Records label showcase at the historic venue. While the police and F.B.I. determined that it was a hoax after sweeping the building with dogs, the e-mail itself was rather threatening.

“I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who came out to our show last night to show their support, all of the bands who still played in light of the threat as well as the extra time it took to search everyone’s gear and person more thoroughly before getting in, the staff of the Trocadero who were absolutely amazing as well as the Philadelphia Police Department and the F.B.I. who did a wonderful job searching the building and allowing the show to continue with very minimal delays. In this day and age threats like this cannot be taken lightly.

“To our friends who opted to stay home because of this threat, much respect to you as well for ensuring your own safety, we’ll catch ya at another gig down the line. At Born of Chaos Records we believe in the family aspect of heavy metal and the true (and not just spoken) support of our metal scene. While we have had to reject bands from being on the label, that is the nature of the beast (hey we’re still new and completely self financed) we support bands from all over and even put entire tours together with complete line-ups of non-label bands that don’t yield us a cent, just to help others in the metal scene get added exposure.

“I just hope that is does not turn out to be someone in our scene that is trying to fuck up what a group of people are dedicating their lives to succeed in. We are aiming for the top, but we want everyone to come with us.”

A news story about the bomb threat can also be read over at Philly.com here.
