New Album “Mass VI” Streaming In Full From Amenra

Belgian heavy music act Amenra is streaming the entire album “Mass VI” ahead of its release via Neurot Recordings on October 20th.

Check out the album via The Independent at this location, or simply in the player below the track listing.

It’s difficult to think of a better person to capture this sonic enormity than Billy Anderson. The legendary American producer was already the chosen one for “Mass V,” and between Neurosis’ “Through Silver In Blood,” Sleep’s “Dopesmoker,” Eyehategod’s “Dopesick,” Cathedral’s “Endtyme” or Brutal Truth’s “Sounds Of The Animal Kingdom,” among many, many others, he’s been a decisive element in the building of many a true classic. “Mass VI” was recorded in the Belgian Ardennes, a region of thick forests in the southeast end of the country, where the band was snowed in for a week. The album is a reflection of these times.

The track listing for the album is:

1. Children of the Eye
2. Edelkroone
3. Plus près de toi (Closer to you)
4. Spijt
5. A solitary reign
6. Diaken

Split Release Sees Wojczech Team Up With Krupskaya

German grind unit Wojczech will release three pulverizing and varied tracks for an ambitious split with U.K. band Krupskaya. The release drops on October 27th via German label 7 Degrees Records.

Wojczech adds more flavor to the proceedings and remains unpredictable for the most part without compromising on the sonic impact. Sounding like a contemporary blend of early Brutal Truth, Nasum, Dephosphorus and even Pig Destroyer, the band covers many sub-styles and it all falls in place beautifully. Here’s grindcore that’s not monotonous, but just as exciting.

Krupskaya from U.K. tear the place down after a pensive build-up, and they’re astonishingly fast. Reminiscent of Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Exit-13 and Yacopsae, the music will give you a head rush. Interspersed by atmospheric passages, their wild blasting feels even more intense and is bound to leave you scampering for cover. Crazed-up, hyperspeed grindcore is the order of the day and Krupskaya are one of the finest bands at present at that.

The track listing for the split LP is:

1. Wojczech – Burning Solids
2. Wojczech – Sickening Discretion
3. Wojczech – Stunde Des Wolfes
4. Krupskaya – Frozen Bodies Against The Wire
5. Krupskaya – A Dawn Of Shattered Silence
6. Krupskaya – Theosophical Separation Of Earth
7. Krupskaya – Skin Of The Cruciform To Ash

1000 Drops Of Venom Releases 1st Song “To Their Doom”

From Syracuse, New York, arises a vicious new act founded by members of some of the area’s most prolific acts, welcome 1000 Drops Of Venom!

From the torch bearers that put the sound of one of the worlds prime metallic hardcore origins on the map, 1000 Drops Of Venom was forged by a cast of musicians who have helped create the Syracuse sound, with vocalist Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance, Freya), guitarist Jonathan Dennison (The Promise, Unholy, The Path Of Resistance), drummer Andy Miller (Unholy), and bassist Chris Reilly comprising the brutal backline.

The debut recordings have just been completed, and are now being finalized for a 7″ EP release, which features four by-the-throat tracks recorded, mixed, and mastered by Doug White at Watchman Studios in Buffalo, New York (Gym Class Heroes, Brutal Truth, Psyopus).

The release will be issued in the coming months, on a label to be announced at a later time. For now, the band has leaked one track from the record as an early warning of what’s to come. Issues Jonathan Dennison of this new venture:

“Well, talks of starting a new band together with Karl has finally materialized. I think fans of our past and present bands will like what we’re doing. Musically this band represents how we feel and some things never change.”

Karl Buechner continues, “JD and I became friends back when Another Victim toured with Earth Crisis in the nineties. Since then we have played music together in Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance, and Freya at different points. It was only a matter of time before we put a band together on our own. Our beliefs and our take on metal and hardcore are identical. There is genuine hatred in this music but it’s not back to square one. I think it’s the best elements of what were known for.”
