Wisdom In Chains Premiere New Song “Already Dead”

Wisdom In Chains premiere another new song “Already Dead“ streaming below. The track features a guest turn from Matt Henson of Noi!se. A July 20th release date has been scheduled for the band’s new effort “Nothing In Nature Respects Weakness“.

Wisdom In Chains’ frontman Mad Joe Black comments:

“…Written from the perspective of Jesus (assuming he is real). I was imagining that Jesus is a real man with magic powers. What would he think about humanity after his shitty experience on earth? I would think that he’s pretty disgusted with people begging him for favors all day and crying about their problems. I would think that he probably wants everyone to shut up and leave him alone.”

The Faceless: Troubled Performance At The ‘Bay Area Death Fest’

The Faceless have once again generated controversy after the entire band walked out on the band’s mastermind Michael Keene earlier this year, due to his alleged heroin addiction.

Keene rebuild the group again with new members, but it things went a bit off the rails obviously during their show on June 10th, at the ‘Bay Area Death Fest‘ in Berkeley, CA. The Faceless were billed to perform their entire 2008 album “Planetary Duality”. According to fans who attended, that didn’t quite happen:

“I only had to wait around for 1.5 hours after TZP finished to be able to hear 50% of Planetary Duality played terribly. This is the third time in ONE year that I’ve been burned by The Faceless’ antics (no show at SS2017 Anaheim and set so terrible at SS2017 LA that Ken was throwing shade at Keene onstage).

I sincerely hope that someday everything is turned around and I and other fans can see The Faceless play live again, on time and well, but enough with the lame excuses. It was astounding to me how indignant Keene acted when told that they were far too late to play PD in it’s entirety, and then later offering the crowd to choose what songs to hear but then overturning the decision because “[I] like Ancient Covenant more.”

I mostly feel sorry for this round of musicians that have signed their reputations over to this band. They all seem like nice dudes and are extremely talented, but I guess they knew what they were getting into. RIP The Faceless.”

Fan-filmed footage of Keene struggling through a solo on that night can be sen below:

Comment The Faceless of the set:

“We had an awesome time last night at Bay Area Death Fest! Now we have a couple of shows with By the Thousands, and then Montebello Rockfest on Saturday!”

This says it all. #bayareadeathfest2018 #badf #noshow

Lizzy Borden launches new track, “The Scar Across My Heart”, from first album in 11 years

– June 11th, 2018 –

Lizzy Borden fans who simply cannot wait any longer to hear a sample of the new studio effort from one of theatrical metal’s top frontmen, Lizzy Borden, are in luck – “The Scar Across My Heart” (from the forthcoming full-length, My Midnight Things) can be heard via this link:

Lizzy Borden comments: “With ‘The Scar Across My Heart,’ I wanted to explore those kinds of relationships that tattoo your soul. You’re forever linked to this person, even though it can never be for one reason or another. ‘We bury all our yesterdays and try and drink these scars away’ – I’m talking about a no-hope situation, a never-meant-to-be situation, but I’m still singing ‘We’re gonna make it now.’ I’m always looking for that human reaction no matter how delusional or unrealistic.”

June 15th will see the release of My Midnight Things via Metal Blade Records, which can be pre-ordered at in the following formats:

–limited 1st edition Digipak-CD (includes bonus tracks)
–180g black vinyl
–clear pacific blue marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–clear burgundy marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
–olive/black marbled vinyl (US exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–opaque cool gray marbled vinyl (US exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
* exclusive bundles with a shirt, plus digital options are also available!

To celebrate My Midnight Things‘ release, Lizzy Borden will have an album release party on Thursday, June 14th from 7-10PM at the Hard Rock Live, Las Vegas (3771 South Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109). Hosted by Jim Florentine (along with Lizzy Borden in attendance!), there will be giveaways, drink specials, signed CDs/LPs available for purchase, and more at this event, which is open to the public. Please RSVP to to confirm your attendance!

Having signed a new contract with Metal Blade on the strength of three demo tracks, Borden opted to produce My Midnight Things himself, with Joey Scott as co-producer, who also handled all the drumming duties. “I knew what I was going for and had doubts that I could find a producer who would understand that,” Borden explains. “My approach is very different than what is happening in today’s current sound.”

The album was also mixed by Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Black Sabbath, Adele, U2) and mastered by Tom Baker (David Bowie, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Tom Petty), and is already receiving rave reviews, from Alt Revolt, Pure Grain Audio, and Royal Flush:

Borden paints a ten-song art gallery show and lets the listener decide what he or she sees on the canvas.”Alternative Revolt Magazine

“Catchy riffs and melodies that are sure to be trapped inside your head, bouncing around your skull for days to come.”PureGrainAudio

“The resulting creation yielded what is arguably the strongest vocal performance of Borden‘s career.”

And now, fans can get a taste of things to come, with “The Scar Across My Heart”.

Jungle Rot Premiere New Music Video “Fearmonger” – Destruction’s Schmier Guests

Jungle Rot‘s tenth studio album will be out in stores on July 20th via Victory Records. The self-titled effort was recorded this past January at Belle City Sound with engineer Chris Djuricic. Dan Swanö (Dark Funeral, Marduk) helmed the mixing and mastering duties. Below you can stream a video for the new single, “Fearmonger“, which features a guest turn from Destruction’s Marcel “Schmier” Schirmer.

Comments Jungle Rot vocalist/guitarist Dave Matrise of that:

“We covered the Destruction classic ‘Invincible Force’ some years ago and Schmier told me ours is his favorite Destruction cover he has ever heard from any band. Years later we toured together and right away Schmier approached me to start singing the song with him in concert. His trademark style and my vocals worked so well together that when I began writing this new record, the idea immediately came up to have him as a guest vocalist. He loved it and was honored to be a part of it. That’s how we created ‘Fearmonger.’”

In addition to playing a June 16th show at Reggie’s Rock Club in Chicago, IL Jungle Rot will be out on the road again with Havok and Extinction A.D. next month on this U.S. tour:

Lesser Glow Premiere Pre-Release Full-Album Stream Of Upcoming New Album “Ruined”

Ruined, the impending debut full-length from Boston’s LESSER GLOW, is streaming in its entirety below. Featuring within its ranks former members of Black Elm, Irepress, and The Proselyte, LESSER GLOW rips open a massively wide and confident blend of traditional doom and melodic metal, paired with hardcore, noise, post-rock, and beyond. Molding all these into one cohesive mix, LESSER GLOW stands out as a refreshing and unapologetically brutal take on heavy music.

Comments the band of the release:

“With Ruined, we set out to simply make heavy music. There was no meditated preconception of genre or specific end goal, but more a true amalgamation of influence and focused frustration that shaped the sound. Thematically, Ruined comments on humanity’s perpetual ability for self-destruction, both in solitude and in numbers. Willingly ignorant, we are doomed to repeat ourselves through cyclical consumerism.”
