The song features a guest spot from Black Crown Initiate guitarist/vocalist Andy Thomas. Rivers Of Nihil guitarist Brody Uttley comments:

“On the title track of ‘Where Owls Know My Name‘, we really let out a different side of our musical personality that nobody has ever seen from us before. This song in many ways feels like the perfect culmination of everything that we were, everything that we are, and everything that we will come to be. Our long time friend Andy Thomas from Black Crown Initiate also contributed some fantastic vocal lines to this track.”

Bionatops Streaming “The Great Pancake Massacre Of 1957”

“The Great Pancake Massacre Of 1957,” the latest burst of auditory madness from Bionatops, has now come online and can be heard below, culled fro the outfit’s curious “Voices” debut that is set to drop on September 22nd.

“Voices” sees Bionatops creator/instrumentalist Joseph Spiller (ex-System Divide, Caricature, The Binary Code, Too Late The Hero) and drummer Jeff Willet (ex-Black Crown Initiate) delivering a boldly bizarre mutation of progressive, technical, and overall plainly odd metal.

“When that AM hankering comes a callin’, sometimes you make bad choices,” Spiller issues of the track. “This is a song about that… sort of. This would be our narrator through the journey that is ‘Voices,’ recalling his firsthand account of an event that happened at least thirty to fifty years before he was born and having a great time. I can’t listen back to this song without cautiously craving delicious pancakes and other breakfast delights.”

Bionatops Posts “Voices” Album Teaser

Nefarious Industries presents the noxious new “Voices” album by Bionatops, the outfit producing a boldly bizarre mutation of progressive, technical, and categorically odd metal. A brief glimpse into the mutant output of the duo’s new wares has been issued through a teaser trailer ahead of the record’s September 22nd release. Check it out below.

Bionatops is the brainchild of Joseph Spiller (ex-System Divide, Caricature, The Binary Code, Too Late The Hero), with the act serving as a way to keep himself free of having writer’s block, and to break the tension of writing serious music within his other acts.

While the music is designed to be thematically lighthearted and fun, the songs are still crafted with serious musicianship that doesn’t rely on editing tricks. Spiller, who records all guitars, bass, vocals, and other instrumentation, is joined by Jeff Willet (ex-Black Crown Initiate) who adds the drums and percussion to the Bionatops attack.

Alluvial (Conquering Dystopia, ex-The Faceless Etc.) Shares Teaser For Upcoming Debut Album “The Deep Longing For Annihilation”

Alluvial – featuring Keith Merrow (Conquering Dystopia, etc.) and Wes Hauch (Black Crown Initiate/ex-The Faceless) – shares a new teaser for its upcoming debut album “The Deep Longing For Annihilation”, which will be out in stores January 06, 2017.

Check it out below.

Despite having launched a singer search earlier in the year, the band has decided to instead continue as an instrumental project. States Wes Hauch:

“This Alluvial album originally began as an instrumental endeavor. As we got to about 5 to six songs in, we started to imagine what this would be like with a vocalist. Throughout the process of going through auditions, as well as a few friends of ours that are vocalists, we realized that we’d become married to the songs as they were. We started all of this with the intent to convey an emotion, or time period. That being said, we are incredibly grateful for all of the amazing auditions we’ve received. Thank you all so much for participating and sharing the music we’ve released so far. We are excited to share this music with everyone very soon.
–Wes”

Black Crown Initiate’s Gear Stolen In St. Louis

Black Crown Initiate had gear, personal effects, and money stolen while the band was stopped in St. Louis. Fans can help get the group back on the road by donating here and Black Crown Initiate issued this statement:

“To all of our dear friends, unfortunately were just robbed in St Louis Missouri. We were in a restaurant for 40 minutes and all of our belongings and money were stolen out of our van in a well lit parking lot.

“Priceless items were taken including laptops, passports, laminates and personal effects. Worst of all, five thousand dollars that we made on this tour is gone. We have to go to Europe in 3 weeks and need as much help as we can get.

“We undoubtedly worked our selves to the bone on one of the best tours we’ve ever done, only to have it swept out from under us. Any single thing you can contribute helps us. All of our cash from the tour is completely gone. We’re working our way home out of our own pocket. Thank you in advance.”
