Bermuda Signs With Urban Yeti Records To Release “Nepenthe”

Extreme metal outfit Bermuda has signed a worldwide deal with Urban Yeti Records and today releases a first sample of new music. Bermuda will release the follow-up to 2015’s “Use Your Burdens” this summer via Urban Yeti Records.

Speaking about the forthcoming record, vocalist Corey Bennett states, “This record reflects the loss, frustration, and denial associated with losing a loved one amidst other tragedies. The end message is that you have to move on. We’re looking forward to this new year and the new opportunities that come with it.”

Guitarist Noah Sias adds: “‘Use Your Burdens’ was a transition for not only the band but fans as well. We took some risks and people responded to the record in a big way. Moving forward with Nepenthe, we’re still taking some risks to keep things fresh but the focus still remains the same: Raw and loud. Nepenthe as a whole is a much darker experience than Use Your Burdens, focusing more on theme and variations lyrically and musically. It’s a very cinematic experience end to end.”

Urban Yeti Records founder Mike Gevorgian commented on the recent signing, “I have to thank Tommy Vext of Westfield Massacre for introducing me to Corey and bringing the two of us together. I saw Bermuda play in the San Fernando Valley on a weekday night, the band put on a more energetic show than I could have ever expected.” He continued, “The talent was undeniable and the bands drive is unbreakable. Now the work falls on us as a label to make sure the heavy music community hears these guys!”

Bermuda’s new album titled “Nepenthe” will be released this summer. Album pre-orders and a full track will be coming soon, but until then, the band has given a clip to show fans what they can expect from the new record.

BEYOND THE SHORE wrap up two months of tour dates; launch “tour stories” video on youtube!

– April 16th, 2014 –

Lexington, KY’s Beyond the Shore have completed an extended tour that began in February. The band has spent the last two months driving across the US twice for over 60 total shows. While on tour, the band tends to find themselves in interesting situation, which at any given time may be fueled by boredom, booze, or simply the randomness inherent in finding oneself in a new town nearly every day! At the beginning of this tour, Beyond the Shore visited the Metal Blade offices, where they reminisced about some of their most entertaining experiences while on tour. The video is on youtube now at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KJuBLfz-RI, and includes stories about some cool Missouri cops, irritable bowel syndrome, and hotel room pornos.

Beyond the Shore guitarist Zach Hunter adds: “We’ve just wrapped up the longest stretch of dates that we’ve done as a band to date. It’s been a wild and crazy ride, but the experiences that you take away are priceless. From glaciers to deserts, we’ve seen it all in a little over two months. Being away from friends and family is a struggle all touring bands face, but the people you meet and memories you take home with you make every second worth it…keep your eyes peeled for more dates this summer!”

Since the April 2013 release of the Ghostwatcher, Beyond the Shore have been keeping themselves busy touring including dates with Nonpoint, My Ticket Home, Veil of Maya, The Contortionist, Glass Cloud, Thy Will Be Done, Altars, Digital Collapse, Bermuda, Barrier, Fit For An Autopsy, Legion, and label-mates Shai Hulud, as well as playing the main stage at 2013′s New England Metal & Hardcore Festival in Massachusetts.

Beyond the Shore has received praise from press and fans alike with magazine heavyweights Alternative Press including the band in their AP Recommends feature and premiering the band’s production video for the track ‘Homewrecker’, which was met with such an overwhelming response that it was pushed to be the most shared and viewed video on the site during the week of the premiere. Outburn Magazine (US) stated that “far and away their greatest asset lies in the gorgeous fluid and emotive leads…conjuring plaintive tones that are steeped in melancholy over the top of the hammering attack, and in doing so imbuing them with greater emotional impact.” Praises from press didn’t stop in the US for the Lexington, KY band though, with major publications like Power Play Magazine (UK) calling the band “a talented bunch of canonical misfits procuring a positive message…Beyond the Shore have been constructed to impress” and Sunday Sport (UK) claiming that “Ghostwatcher may be the best thing to come out of Kentucky since fried chicken…This is metalcore at its absolute best.”

Beyond the Shore is:
Andrew Loucks – Vocals
Zach Hunter – Guitar
Jared Loucks – Guitar
Eli Masharbash – Bass
Jonathan Pugh – Drums
