The Green River Burial Parting Ways With Vocalist Mert

Germany’s The Green River Burial just issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band’s vocalist:

“It has become a little quiet around us for some time now and there is a reason for it. Sadly, we have to announce that TGRB and Mert will go separate ways as musicians.

“We still remain close friends and do not at all part for personal reasons. Rather we have just come to realize that, over the course of many years as a band, our musical focus and preferences have simply moved apart. A statement by Mert concerning this matter will be posted right here in a few days to fill you in on the details.

“So, what does the future hold for this band? First of all, we will not cancel any of the upcoming shows. Mert will continue to be our singer until we are able to present you the new person behind the mic. Secondly: Yes, we do search for a new singer and no, we don’t have one yet. If you think you are the one for the job, hit us up with a message to this page. Include the following information and we’ll get back to you if we are interested:

1. Age
2. Location
3. Recordings or (even better) videos of you singing
4. Any band and touring history

“Thank you all for your support and understanding. We’re determined to continue our path and release our new material as soon as possible, but this was a decision that had to be made for the sake of us four, the band and our friendship.”

Temperance Reveals “Limitless” Album Details

“Limitless” is the title of Temperance’s new album, following the band’s previous debut release, which came out only one year ago and was followed by heavy touring, including a full run of the U.S. West Coast. Due out on March 30th via Scarlet Records, the label comments:

“‘Limitless’ is an amazing mixture of tight, heavy guitar riffs, electronics and folk elements, bounded together in the name of melody and power, with singer Chiara Tricarico delivering an outstanding performance behind the mic.

:Limitless was mixed and mastered by renowned musician/producer Simone Mularoni (DGM) at Domination Studio in San Marino, Italy. The cover artwork was handled by Gustavo Sazes (Arch Enemy, Amaranthe, James Labrie). This is not your average metal band with female vocals. Temperance are here to make a difference. And they will take no prisoners.”

The album’s track listing is as follows:

1. Oblivion
2. Amber & Fire
3. Save Me
4. Stay
5. Mr. White
6. Here & Now
7. Omega Point
8. Me, Myself & I
9. Side By Side
10. Goodbye
11. Burning
12. Get A Life
13. Limitless

Far West Battlefront Recruits New Vocalist Kieran “Ron” Wright

Adelaide heavy metal crew Far West Battlefront has formally recruited a new vocalist into its ranks.

The band has been on the lookout for a new vocalist since Adam Atkins decided to bow out in July last year, formally departing at the end of 2013 with his last set at the Vans Warped Tour. In October, the band posted an instrumental track to YouTube and asked people to record their own lyrics over the top to audition.

“After having two members quit the band this year the rest of us are faced with one of the toughest decisions of our lives: retire the band, or push on wounded and fight the good fight. To sink or swim,” the band wrote with the video. “…But, after a few schnitzels and much deliberation we have decided to push forward with the band and search for a new singer. Our love for this is too much to let it all go, and we’d have nothing else better to do each afternoon after work anyway… except maybe burn game!”

All the tapes are in and they’ve scuttled to Victoria for a sneaky test trip. The verdict: Kieran Wright (to be known as “Ron”) will be taking the place behind the mic. In a statement published to the band’s Facebook page, Far West Battlefront said:

“First and foremost we would like to thank anyone who auditioned for the role and took the time to record his or her interpretation of the song. It was truly humbling to hear not only national participants but receive takes from those based internationally also.

“This is not a decision we rushed or took lightly and spent many months going through auditions and jamming with those candidates we thought suitable. After the completion of our recent Victorian tour it became apparent that Kieran is not only the right guy for the job vocally, but he also gels perfectly with the rest of us and is on the same wavelength with the new material.”
