Blodarv Posts “Moon Gazer” Music Video

With the release of the limited edition 7″ vinyl “Flamekeeper” creeping closer, Danish black metal band Blodarv today debuts a video for the track “Moon Gazer.”

The video for “Moongazer” was filmed on Bornholm, the island home of Blodarv frontman and founder Hugin, and was produced at his own HammerArt and Studios. Check it out below.

“Flamekeeper” will be available in two different versions on Self Mutilation Services, including a special ceremonial box, and is a release that is very personal to Hugin, who wants it to be a special thank you to fans, some of whom have been following the band for twenty years since the release of the “Misanthropia/Misanthropia” back in 1994.

To this end, the front man has gone to great lengths to hand craft much of the content himself, and has ensured that the label sourced a high quality wooden box that will be a collector’s item for years to come. Included in the diehard “Flamekeeper Ceremonial Box” set will be the following:

A carved wooden box for storing the EP
The “Flamekeeper” 7″ EP in black vinyl with cover
23cm embroidered back patch
9 x 9 cm sticker
Photo sheet
Lyric sheet
Necklace crafted by Hugin out of goat bones from the island of Bornholm and hand numbered
A black candle from the ceremony that was held during the crafting of the necklaces
Black jewellery bag for the necklace
Two-sided print guitar pick with “Flamekeeper” on one side and the Blodarv logo on the reverse

Anubis Gate Recruits New Drummer Morten Gade Sorensen

Morten Gade Sørensen (of Pyramaze and Wuthering Heights) has replaced Morten Sørensen in Anubis Gate. The band comments:

“After careful consideration and 5 albums behind the drums, Morten Sørensen felt it was time to get off the bandwagon to pursue other musical interests. We would like to say that this is a peaceful parting of the ways and that we are still good friends. We are of course sad to see Morten Sørensen go but also excited to have another one of Denmark’s very finest drummers to join the band. It is with great pleasure that we can announce his replacement Morten Gade Sørensen, known for his excellent drumming in bands such as Pyramaze, Wuthering Heights and Lance King.”

Morten Gade Sørensen comments on joining Anubis Gate: “I’ve been following Anubis Gate since they started and being a big fan of their universe it’s an honor for me to be asked to join. I’m looking forward to working on the bands new material.”

Anubis Gate is currently working on an upcoming sixth album, which will be out on Nightmare Records late 2013 and follows the band’s 2011 self-titled release (reviewed here).

Enforcer Signs With Nuclear Blast Records To Release New Album "Death By Fire"

The Swedish heavy metal blood brothers in Enforcer recently signed a new worldwide record deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The new album is titled “Death By Fire” and will be released on February 1st, 2013.

Bandleader, vocalist and guitar player Olof Wikstrand comments: “It feels great to finally have finished this long awaited third Enforcer record. Now with Nuclear Blast on board we’re gonna make sure to spread it to every corner of this planet. You can expect nothing but the total, self defining Enforcer record.”

Nuclear Blast head of A&R, Andy Siry says: “We’ve been following the career of Enforcer since their debut album, because from there on, they formed the spearhead of a new, young generation of traditionally influenced metal. We’re impressed by the bands consequent and authentic appearance, whether on stage, concerning their sound, their image and so on. This reminds of the atmosphere of departure and the rebellion, heavy metal represented at the beginning of the 80’s. Enforcer have got that special something, represent their ideals and they know what they want. We’re looking forward to the upcoming CD and a long successful cooperation.”

Den Saakaldte Inks Deal With Agonia Records

Norwegian act Den Saakaldte recently announced its split with Pulverised Records. The band has now revealed it has moved to Agonia Records by issuing the following statement:

“Many dramatic changes occured during the last one year in Den Saakaldte’s reality. When Niklas decided no longer to continue with the band, many things passed from our minds…even just dropping the whole damn thing off.

“After the band discussing and coming to the conclusion that all the members wanted Den Saakaldte to continue being active as a way of artistic expression but also as in a lifestyle attitude for us, we decided that certain things had to be put down and start all over again.

“Agonia Records that has been following our ways and sharing our ideas on how things should be, gave us the opportunity to built the foundations for Kapittel II:Faen I Helvete on solid ground. Filip showed to us with quite devotion, the how much he wanted the band in Agonia Records’ roster.

“We are looking forward to start with the recordings and we are even more excited to hear soundscapes, having now Mr Hægeland as frontman. The future looks dark …and quite much pissed off.”

Additional details on the upcoming album “Kapittel II:Faen I Helvete” will be announced as they are made available.
