LIK releases video for 2nd single, “Dr. Duschanka”

– April 5th, 2018 –

Death metallers Lik from Stockholm, Sweden have just released the 2nd single taken off their new album, Carnage, to be released May 4th via Metal Blade Records. To watch the video for “Dr. Duschanka”, please visit: youtube.com/watch?v=pqYrg8Jf1R8

Lik comments: “‘Dr. Duschanka’ is a gruesome piece about what can go down if you happen to book yourself into the appointment of your nightmares. We were looking for a video that necessarily didn’t need to depict what happens in the lyrics, but reflects the dark and gritty story. At an early stage it was decided to do a classical performance video inspired by old classics like Pantera‘s ‘I’m Broken’. Together with crew of ‘The Happy Creative’ we achieved this and the visual distortion goes well with the sonical!”

The first single, “Rid You Of Your Flesh”, can be heard at: metalblade.com/lik – where the record can pre-ordered in the following formats:

–ltd. 1st ed. Digipak-CD
–180g black vinyl
–grey black marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–white vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
–red opaque/black splattered vinyl (EU/EMP exclusive – limited to 100 copies)
–clear/black marbled vinyl (US exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
* exclusive bundles with a shirt, plus digital options are also available!

In the dirt where fallen idols lay to rest, the maggots and seeds in 2014 spawned a new creation. This took the ugly form of Lik, which fittingly means corpse in Swedish. An un-dead creation which offers a plate of savory old school death metal. Walking the earth for three cold winters, and with the first offer named Mass Funeral Evocation in 2015, it’ll have a sister released in May of 2018. Through iconic Metal Blade Records, Carnage will reach even further in the quest to spread the beauty of imperfection.

Responsible to capture this on tape was once again Lawrence Mackrory (Darkane, F.K.U). This time things where stepped up a notch as the recording took place in the famous Dugout studios in Uppsala where Daniel Bergstrand also added some spice to the infernal stew. In the land where the craft is polished to resemble something else than brute reality, Lik has no passage as this entity is devoted to make a permanent mark in those who lay down their souls to rock’n’roll. That’s why the recipe will always, and has always been, to record as much live as possible. Keeping editing to a minimum offers a “what you hear is what you get”-experience. That’s why it feels like you’re on the spot at a live gig, rather than a calm studio environment when you spin the disc.

The new offering from the Stockholm group delivers more of what you got on the debut. It’s an effort where you can expect everything from slow and bone crushing songs to fast and furious riffs. The lyrics are once again about everything between heaven and hell, both in reality and in fiction. It portrays the deepest corners of humanity and it also flirts with old school horror.

Lik announces new album, ‘Carnage’, for a May 4th release

– March 15th, 2018 –

Launches first single and pre-order

Death Metallers Lik from Stockholm, Sweden announce their new album, Carnage, for a May 4th release through Metal Blade Records. Please visit metalblade.com/lik to hear the first single, “Rid You Of Your Flesh” – where you can also pre-order the record in the following formats:

Comments Lik about the first single: “With its sheer power coming at you as a knuckle sandwich to your face, but keeping a melodic side to it, it was easy to choose ‘Rid You Of Your Flesh’ as the first single for this album. Showcasing what we’ve done in the past and a hint of what you can expect on ‘Carnage‘, it was a natural choice!”

Earthless Premiere New Song “Black Heaven”

The title track to Earthless‘ new album “Black Heaven” is presently streaming below in advance of the effort’s March 16th release via Nuclear Blast Records.

Describes drummer Mario Rubalcaba the song:

“A whirlwind ride through dark clouds and muddy waters, hi-energy sludge that rolls and heavy riffage that rock. Psychedelic sprinkles all over the place make me wanna turn this sucker up loud as hell only to howl at the heavens.”

Adds bassist Mike Eginton :

“The main riff for ‘Black Heaven‘ came about during a soundcheck in Australia in 2015. I think we sort of played that riff a little bit several times on that tour while we were setting up. Other parts came in over the following years, but it wasn’t ever worked on very seriously until we started working on ‘Black Heaven‘. Then it came together pretty quickly when we started jamming it out.”

Blacklight Media Records announces its very first label showcase (hosted by Jose Mangin) in New York City

– January 16th, 2018 –

Featuring Candiria, Gozu, Good Tiger, Mother Feather, Oni, and Eyes Of The Sun

On March 8th, Blacklight Media Records will throw a label showcase (hosted by Jose Mangin!) at the Gramercy Theatre in New York. Featuring Blacklight Media artists Gozu, Good Tiger, Mother Feather, Oni, and Eyes Of The Sun, all leading up to very special guest headliner Metal Blade Records artist Candiria! This is one show not to be missed! Tickets will go on-sale this Friday (January 19th) at: concerts1.livenation.com

Blacklight Media Records’ Chris Santos comments: “I could not be more excited to announce the very first Blacklight Media Showcase! To say this is a lifelong dream come true doesn’t begin to articulate how proud I am of this show and more importantly, how proud I am of the bands who call Blacklight Media and Metal Blade Records their home. This is truly a once in a lifetime show for all of us and for all the amazing fans of these talented artists. Having Jose Mangin as the Master of Ceremonies is icing on the cake! We can’t wait to celebrate a night of crushing multi-genre Metal with you on March 8. Long Live Metal!”

About Blacklight Media Records:
Blacklight Media is a hard rock and heavy metal label founded in February 2016 by Chris Santos, executive chef and managing partner of New York City restaurants VANDAL, The Stanton Social and Beauty & Essex, in partnership with Brian Slagel, founder of Metal Blade Records. Blacklight has a distinct focus on releasing music that possesses an extensive amount of melody, mixed with heavy ebbs and flow.

About Candiria:
Since their inception in 1992, the name Candiria has become synonymous with the kind of experimentation and genre-bending not often associated with the hard/metalcore community, a testament to the band’s skillful musicianship and intelligent sonic aesthetic. Born in Brooklyn, NY, they have been lauded for their ability to mesh decidedly different styles in a seamless way. They were named one of the “10 Most Important Bands in Metal” by Rolling Stone back in 1999 for consistently releasing music that challenges listeners, thrills critics, and – most importantly – attracts a legion of dedicated, diehard fans. Their latest release While They Were Sleeping certainly continues that legacy, with Pitchfork hailing the band as one of “the most convincingly flexible acts that metal and hardcore have ever seen.” It’s a concept album that tells the tale of a failed musician who rises up against a NYC monarchy. To preview and purchase While They Were Sleeping, please visit: metalblade.com/candiria

About Gozu:
Formed in 2010, Gozu has released one EP and three full-lengths to-date, and are currently writing their fourth studio album, set for a 2018 release via Blacklight Media. Fronted by Marc Gaffney on vocals and guitar, Doug Sherman on guitar, Joe Grotto on bass, and Mike Hubbard on drums, the band’s sound is tailor-made for blasting out the car speakers via international radio airwaves. Having already been aired on national television (USA) via MTV (‘Road Rules’, ‘Dudesons’, ‘Real World’), NBC, and NASCAR, Gozu aims to take their critical and commercial success to new heights on their upcoming debut for Blacklight Media, with worldwide touring to follow. Previously, the group shared the stage with the likes of St. Vitus, Pallbearer, Lo Pan, Storm of Light, Helmet, Elder, Mos Generator, and Fu Manchu in the States, as well as Yob, Church of Misery and Kvelertak in Europe at Roadburn (Netherlands) and DesertFest Berlin (Germany). 2018 will surely see Gozu back on the road again, and at the forefront of the heavy rock and metal world.

About Good Tiger:
Comprised of guitarists Derya “Dez” Nagle and Joaquin Ardiles, bassist Morgan Sinclair, drummer Alex Rudinger, and vocalist Elliot Coleman, Good Tiger has raised the stakes across the board on their upcoming sophomore effort, We Will All Be Gone. Every track on the album has a definitive character of its own, and none stay in a single gear, all of them dynamic and textured as they evoke various tones and moods. Tracking at Middle Farm Studios in southwest England, the band recruited producer Forrester Savell (Karnivool/Dead Letter Circus), and engineer/mixer Adam “Nolly” Getgood (Periphery/Animals As Leaders). “We worked with Nolly on the last album, we had a great working relationship, and wanted to explore that further in a more developed situation,” Dez explains. “Forrester has made some of our favorite albums, and is someone we could trust steering the ship. Having self-produced for so long it can be at times quite difficult to let go, so it was important we found people we could fully entrust to help create the album we wanted to make.” To preview and pre-order We Will All Be Gone, please visit: metalblade.com/goodtiger

About Mother Feather:
Mother Feather will release their upcoming album in 2018 via Blacklight Media. “The newest songs for the album were written last fall and winter in the midst and aftermath of the US presidential election,” Courtney comments. “The political climate and outcome were personally devastating, but it also re-ignited my sense of purpose. I locked myself away to write, face my depression, and stare down some uncomfortable feelings. Truthfully, I went to some very dark and lonely places. So there’s a lot of fever – and intimacy – in the new music. When I emerged from my self-exile, I discovered my band waiting for me on the other side, so there’s exuberance and catharsis there too. It’s good to have friends, ya know?! Together, we worked to develop the songs and shape them into some of Mother Feather‘s best, most eclectic work yet.” To preview and purchase Mother Feather‘s previous release – the band’s self-titled debut – please visit: metalblade.com/motherfeather

About Oni:
With their influences rooted in progressive metal, Oni‘s sound can be compared to the genre’s heavy hitters – The Human Abstract, Protest The Hero and Between The Buried And Me – yet they remain truly unique. With Jake Oni handling vocal duties, Martin Andres and Brandon White on guitar, Chase Bryant on bass and Joe Greulich on drums, they are also perhaps the first metal band to feature a xylosynth player, Johnny D, which adds an intriguing dynamic to the nine tracks found on their debut, Ironshore. Produced by Josh Wilbur (Lamb Of God, Gojira), the album takes listeners on an absorbing ride that provides ample opportunity for head-banging, singing along and deep introspection. To preview and purchase Ironshore, please visit: metalblade.com/oni

About Eyes Of The Sun:
Eyes Of The Sun was conceived in early 2007 by bassist/vocalist Jeff Blanchard. Long-time friend Miguel De Jesus Jr. joined the ranks with Jeff a few months later on guitar. Within a few years, and after a couple of past members on second guitar and drums, Chris O’Neil joined as the permanent drummer. As a trio, they performed countless shows over the past 10 years, delivering their unique brand of doom metal – which leaves listeners with a range of emotions, that the band themselves then experience and extract from. The band explains: “It is known throughout the laws of science and nature that the sun creates and sustains life…Now it stands witness to the atrocities, depletion and vile consumption manifested by mankind, which it originally sustained life for. In our way, we portray what is seen through the Eyes Of The Sun.”

New video trailer revealed from Dimebag Darrell’s ‘Dimevision Vol. 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over’ DVD/CD

– November 7th, 2017 –

Everyone loves sneak peeks! Today, Guitar World presents a special, exclusive trailer from the upcoming video memorial set, Dimevision Vol 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over, out November 24th via Metal Blade Records. Watch the exclusive trailer – which includes raw footage of Dimebag Darrell in his performance element – and read quotes from Rita Haney here: guitarworld.com/artists/dimevision-2-trailer

Rita Haney tells Guitar World: “Dime is true reality TV, way before any of what goes on today was even a concept! He didn’t need someone to script in a scenario or stage in a moment to make his life appear more interesting…He created these moments himself, 24/7! He had a gift for noticing the beauty in everything, and when I say ‘beauty,’ I mean ‘catchin’ a nut’ on all his surroundings! Life like ‘that’ goes on around you all the time, you just gotta see it and catch it. And he did! And he made the most of it, always! That’s exactly what we mean by the term ‘Dimevision‘.”

Dimevision Vol 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over is a follow up to the poignant first Dimebag Darrell video memorial set Dimevision Vol 1: That’s The Fun I Have, and is another true celebration of Dimebag and how he lived his life. The DVD/CD set – which will include more raw footage, true gems and classic moments – will hit retailers on November 24th. The set will also include five previously unreleased demos, picked from a vast catalog Dimebag accrued since longtime girlfriend Rita Haney gave him his first 4-track in 1984. Dimebag’s personally-written lyrics, dates and notes on those tracks will also be included.

Pre-orders for Dimevision Vol 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over are now available via Metal Blade at: metalblade.com/dimevision. A PledgeMusic campaign has also been launched to support the release of the set, also acting as a pre-order. The PledgeMusic campaign includes an assortment of rare items to buy, including props and costumes that belonged to Dimebag and that you can see in his home videos/Dimevision volumes, rare stage clothing, and other merchandise. Visit the PledgeMusic page here: pledgemusic.com/projects/dimevision2

Dimevision Vol 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over continues in the same vein as Dimevision Vol 1: That’s The Fun I Have with the inclusion of hilarious video segments that will bring back great memories for any fan of Dimebag Darrell and his bands. Check out two other exclusive clips revealed from the set, the first including a very interesting CPAP machine fitting clip, and another showcasing a few of Dime’s favorite costumes and props available in the PledgeMusic pre-order.

Going into making Dimevision Vol 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over, Rita Haney worked in collaboration with Daryl “Bobby Tongs” Arnberger, who was not only one of Dimebag’s closest friends both on and off the road, but also worked as an official videographer for Pantera, Damageplan and a plethora of A-list musicians, from Slipknot to Dolly Parton, along with film editor Rob Fenn. After cataloguing hundreds of tapes, they chose 43 segments to create Dimevision Vol. 2.

“He had a unique way of seeing things, and he always lived with a video camera,” says Haney. “No matter where we went he was always capturing what was going on, and myself and others around him were filming a lot too. In putting out these videos I just want people to see the way he was, 24/7. What you saw on stage and backstage, that was how he lived.”

Haney adds, “There were some really touching, deep, heavy and emotional moments in the first one, where he’s talking about himself to the camera while in the shower. Filming himself like that was something he did a lot, and you’d have no clue until you’re looking through the tapes and come across them, and when you do the goosebumps crawl all over you. People that love and know Darrell are going to be touched by what he has to say, because it’s him telling you for the first time.”
