Windhand Posts New Music Video “First To Die” Online

Richmond, Virginia based doom metal outfit Windhand has posted a new music video online for the song, “First To Die.” You can check it out below. The video was directed by Philippe Grenade, while the song comes from the band’s fourth album, “Eternal Return,” which was released in October through Relapse Records.

“The inspiration for the video started with the lyrics, First you die, to be born,” Grenade explains. “I immediately saw the image of a woman suffocated by the crushing anxiety of a metropolis; drowning in the delirium and being forced through some sort of psychedelic death trip and coming out the other side with a new point of view. A psychic death and rebirth. The video expresses anxiety and transformation while honoring the beauty of Windhand’s music.”

Edge Of Paradise Posts New Video “Face Of Fear” Online

“Face Of Fear” encapsulates, in grand form, the prior evolution of Edge Of Paradise as the band turns a page to a whole new world of sound, revealed in the coming months of 2019, in the form of their third album, Universe.

Singer, Margarita Monet states; “I want to dedicate this song/video to a childhood friend of mine who took his own life, and to all those who battle their inner demons. There is a lot of hatred in this world, and the wide reach of internet and social media enables and disguises those behind it. This darkness about our society plays a big role on our mental state. If you experience negativity of others, just remember that all actions are rooted in love or fear, and hate is the face of fear! We can not let this effect us, instead we have to break the cycle and rise above it, be good and support one another regardless of race, social status or place of birth and remember that all life is worth fighting for.”

Sponsored by Souls Of Rock Foundation, and directed by Val Rassi, the “Face Of Fear” video was filmed on location in the grandiose landscape of Iceland, in hopes that the beauty and magic of the planet we live on, can inspire and empower. The band chose to film in many vast remote locations, regardless of the difficulty in getting there. Both the film crew and band members embraced this challenge. For that reason, the collective decision was made to refrain from making a video full of special effects, and to focus on the massive, awe inspiring Iceland landscape, captured by our drone pilot and photographer Darren Lafreniere!

Haken Premiere New Song & Music Video “A Cell Divides”

A new official music video for Haken‘s new song “A Cell Divides” has premiered streaming for you online below. “Vector” will be out in stores next Friday, October 26th, via InsideOut Music.

Teells drummer Ray Hearne of this latest single:

“Spawned from some hotel room writing sessions last year, Vector‘s album closer was a fresh approach to concise song writing, for which we are not typically known.

While the lyrics in A Cell Divides unlock more clues to the narrative of Vector, the video, filmed mostly in slow motion, contradicts the frantic pace of the song and delves into the beauty of flawed and warped imagery.”

Incite Premiere New Single “Ruthless Ways”

Incite have an as-yet unannounced January release planned for their new effort “Built To Destroy” through Minus Head Records. The group recorded the outing with producer Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die) and have debuted a song from it called “Ruthless Ways” in advance streaming below.

Says Incite vocalist Richie Cavalera of the single:

“Our new song ‘Ruthless Ways‘ is about being a piece of sh*t and it finally catching up with you. It’s the exact vibe we wanted to explode out the gate with. The song is brutal, catchy, and hella groovy. It’s a good feel for what to expect on this new album. Huge riffs, massive drums, bass for days, and a new vocal feel that to me is pure evil and nasty. We kept it real heavy – get your headbang on.”

The band are currently out tour the U.S. with Lody Kong:

09/14 San Diego, CA – Space Bar
09/16 Oakland, CA – Elbo Room Jack London
09/17 Sacramento, CA – Blue Lamp

Mother Feather announces new album, ‘Constellation Baby’

– September 6th, 2018 –

Stream scorching first single “Red Hot Metal” now

New York City’s Mother Feather have perfected the formula to pay homage to the roots of punk’n’roll and heavy rock injected with their own brand of the divine feminine, and since their debut album have been keeping the audience on their toes. The evolution of their high-energy “pop cock rock” surges forward this November with their sophomore album Constellation Baby, out via Metal Blade Records / Blacklight Media.

The first taste of the new Mother Feather comes in the form of lead single “Red Hot Metal”, now available to stream and download. Just like you’d expect from the name, the track embodies the smoldering nature of the NYC five-piece, radiating controlled adrenaline, highlighted by the production of Grammy-nominated Joshua Valleau. Explains lead singer Ann Courtney, “‘Red Hot Metal is a deathmatch wrestling event of the anxious mind. It’s a fever dream of some of the darkest hours writing the new songs for the album, as I fought to keep my grip on my sanity and the wheel of an old – but fast – red car.”

“Red Hot Metal” indeed gives the listener a vibrant mental image – and Brooklyn Bazaar will witness their glittery, smoky stage presence later this month. Mother Feather will be opening up for metalhead disco-rockers Tragedy this September 29 – for more info, please visit: facebook.com/events/260967624482743/

Mother Feather‘s Constellation Baby will be available November 2 via Metal Blade / Blacklight Media, and is available for pre-order now at: metalblade.com/motherfeather – where you can also stream “Red Hot Metal”.

More on Mother Feather:
New York City. The lights go down, Mother Feather stride onto the stage. The bass frequency clarion call that kicks off their opening song charges its way through the packed room, a ripple of electricity riding off its back. Vocalist Ann Courtney steps to the microphone and purrs the first line: “I need your full attention…” And she’s got it. What follows, every single time the quintet stand before an audience, is pure rock and roll catharsis, for Courtney, for her band mates, and for every individual crammed into the room.

Mother Feather made their introduction with two independently released EPs, which were then released as their 2016 self-titled debut full-length on Metal Blade. Now, the band makes their Metal Blade return with their sophomore album Constellation Baby, an extension on the band’s self-styled pop cock rock, with catharsis bleeding through the speakers in the form of gritty, garage-y glamour. Their songs marry the scratchy yet catchy, swaggering and dangerous sounds of The Stooges, New York Dolls or The MC5 with the playfulness, pop sensibilities and exuberance of the finest 90s alt-rock, a little upbeat 50s rock n’ roll thrown in for good measure. Combined with Courtney’s overtly optimistic, inspiring lyrics, the band deliver an energizing and irresistible concoction that captures the attitude and beating heart of New York City on its best day, empowering everyone in their path.

Of course, the band is far bigger than Courtney alone, having surrounded herself with her best friends, who happen to be extremely talented musicians. Every member plays an intrinsic part when bringing the songs to life, both on record and when unleashed on stage. She affectionately refers to guitarist Chris Foley, bassist Matt Basile and drummer Gunnar Olsen as “three beasts”, all of them bringing so much attitude, energy and personality to the songs. Then there’s keyboardist/vocalist Elizabeth Carena, only ever “Lizzie” to Ann, whose interplay with Courtney is one of the most electrifying facets of their performances. “She’s my best friend, my hype woman, and we support and play off each other. I think it’s such an exciting, empowering thing to see two women on stage supporting each other and totally committed to pop cock rock. It’s an overtly feminist statement. I get excited when I see women with their eyes lit up in the crowd.”

Still, as thrilling as the album is, when it comes to Mother Feather all roads lead back to their incomparable live show. While some may look at the costumes, the makeup and the choreography and see the band as heirs to the crown of the likes of David Bowie and the mystique-chasing glam rock stars of the 70s, the last thing the band want is separation between artist and audience, the connection between them integral. “When I’m on stage it’s not a persona. Mother Feather is not a character. Mother Feather is the real me. Who I am off that stage is more of a persona,” she states plainly. “To make that connection with people you must commit, wholly, and that means being present in every breath and dance move. That’s where the space is, to be wild and crazy and nasty and vulnerable, the space to be terrifying. I want to see everything in a rock show. I want the horror, I want the beauty, I want the fun, I want it to be garish. I want it to be wild, I want it to be loud, I want the drama, I want the camp, I want it to be stripped bare. I want to have the whole world for dinner. So that’s what we try to do, every single time.”

Korpiklaani Premiere New Song “Kotikonnut” From Upcoming New Album “Kulkija”

Korpiklaani premiere a new song entitled “Kotikonnut” (meaning Homestead in English), taken from their upcoming new album “Kulkija”, which will be out in stores September 7 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Check out now “Kotikonnut” below.

Explains Korpiklaani:

“During his journey, a wanderer yearningly looks back on his home, childhood and the beauty of everything. He remembers running with his girl on the meadow, believing it to last till the end of times. Although his home is now the road and a carriage run by joy, he will still always remember the happiness of his home and youth. At the time the moon was golden, shining everywhere at night, lighting up the otherwise dark countryside and the forest. The wanderer eventually accepts that everything that comes, will one day fade into a distant memory.”

Lik releases video for third single, “Celebration of the Twisted”

– April 24th, 2018 –

Death Metallers Lik from Stockholm, Sweden have just released the third single taken off their new album, Carnage, to be released May 4th via Metal Blade Records. To watch the video for “Celebration Of The Twisted”, please visit: youtube.com/watch?v=Qh1K-87uQKM

Lik comments: “We wanted to depict just how dark and gloomy Stockholm can be during the long winter we’re given here in the north. That sets a mood perfect to write old school death metal. You can say that the inspiration is always just around the corner. The one who knows his or hers Stockholm death metal will rejoice as there’s some major landmarks included in this video!”

The video was shot, produced and edited by Niklas Sandin. Thanks to Jonas Renkse & Linus Johansson.

Head over to metalblade.com/lik to check out the videos for the first two singles, “Rid You Of Your Flesh” and “Dr. Duschanka”. At the same location you can pre-order the album in the following formats:

–ltd. 1st ed. Digipak-CD
–180g black vinyl
–grey black marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–white vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
–red opaque/black splattered vinyl (EU/EMP exclusive – limited to 100 copies)
–clear/black marbled vinyl (US exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
* exclusive bundles with a shirt, plus digital options are also available!

In the dirt where fallen idols lay to rest, the maggots and seeds in 2014 spawned a new creation. This took the ugly form of Lik, which fittingly means corpse in Swedish. An un-dead creation which offers a plate of savory old school death metal. Walking the earth for three cold winters, and with the first offer named Mass Funeral Evocation in 2015, it’ll have a sister released in May of 2018. Through iconic Metal Blade Records, Carnage will reach even further in the quest to spread the beauty of imperfection.

Responsible to capture this on tape was once again Lawrence Mackrory (Darkane, F.K.U). This time things where stepped up a notch as the recording took place in the famous Dugout studios in Uppsala where Daniel Bergstrand also added some spice to the infernal stew. In the land where the craft is polished to resemble something else than brute reality, Lik has no passage as this entity is devoted to make a permanent mark in those who lay down their souls to rock’n’roll. That’s why the recipe will always, and has always been, to record as much live as possible. Keeping editing to a minimum offers a “what you hear is what you get”-experience. That’s why it feels like you’re on the spot at a live gig, rather than a calm studio environment when you spin the disc.

The new offering from the Stockholm group delivers more of what you got on the debut. It’s an effort where you can expect everything from slow and bone crushing songs to fast and furious riffs. The lyrics are once again about everything between heaven and hell, both in reality and in fiction. It portrays the deepest corners of humanity and it also flirts with old school horror.

Carnage track-listing
1. To Kill
2. Rid You Of Your Flesh
3. Celebration Of The Twisted
4. Dr. Duschanka
5. Left To Die
6. Cannibalistic Infancy
7. Death Cult
8. The Deranged
9. Only Death Is Left Alive
10. Embrace The End

Tomas Akvik – vocals & guitars

LIK releases video for 2nd single, “Dr. Duschanka”

– April 5th, 2018 –

Death metallers Lik from Stockholm, Sweden have just released the 2nd single taken off their new album, Carnage, to be released May 4th via Metal Blade Records. To watch the video for “Dr. Duschanka”, please visit: youtube.com/watch?v=pqYrg8Jf1R8

Lik comments: “‘Dr. Duschanka’ is a gruesome piece about what can go down if you happen to book yourself into the appointment of your nightmares. We were looking for a video that necessarily didn’t need to depict what happens in the lyrics, but reflects the dark and gritty story. At an early stage it was decided to do a classical performance video inspired by old classics like Pantera‘s ‘I’m Broken’. Together with crew of ‘The Happy Creative’ we achieved this and the visual distortion goes well with the sonical!”
