Fiakra Signs With Pure Underground Records, Debut LP Set For Summer

New Jersey based blackened folk/power metal band Fiakra (formerly known as Hexen and not to be confused with U.S. thrashers HeXen) has signed on with Pure Underground Records, a division of Pure Steel. The band’s debut release under the new moniker will be entitled “Invasion,” and is scheduled for a June/July 2012 release date. Formed in 2000, the band, as Hexen, released a demo in 2005 and a debut EP entitled “A New Age” in 2006 before the first full length album “Dark Crucible” was released on Eternal War Records.

The band commented on the signing: “Fiakra are proud to be working with Pure Steel Records, we are overjoyed so far at the help and support we’ve received from the label, and can’t wait to unleash our own molten brand of pagan power metal upon the unsuspecting world. Like a band of dark ages warlords riding harley’s made of human bones….we shall conquer all in our path and destroy all who oppose!”

Akkadian Calling It A Day

U.K. based blackened death metal act Akkadian has issued the following announcement about deciding to call it a day:

“After recent events we have released Dave & Paul Hutchins from the band due to lack of commitment and our product being physically to demanding for them.

“After much thought Ant, Steve and myself have decided to end Akkadian as we are fed up of being held back and let down by others, in this case Dave & Paul. Akkadian would like to thank Grom Records for signing and believing in us and we would also like to thank our family, friends and everyone who has supported us over the years.

“James, Ant & Steve.

“RIP Akkadian (May 2005 – May 2012)”

Undead Pandemic Records Tracks For New Album

UK based blackened death goregrind project Undead Pandemic has revealed the title of its upcoming release. Undead Pandemic’s second full-length album will be titled “Nunslut” and the band promises that it will be even more extreme and offensive than its predecesor, “The Rising.” Ben Murphy, the mastermind behind Undead Pandemic, had to say: “I’m a few tracks into my second full length album (brutality has increased somewhat and will be a total goregrind massacre) – the artwork hasn’t been completed yet but I can reveal the title – it’s going to be called ‘Nunslut’. Full of blasphemy, brutality, hatred and alot of defiled nuns. Tracks written and recorded so far are as follows: ‘Hellfuck,’ ‘Home Surgery Face Transplant,’ ‘Hellfuck Part 2,’ ‘Thirty Thousand Fisted Nuns’ and ‘The Human Centipede (Surgery Perversion).’ I’m well into a few other tracks but there’s still a lot to be done.” Check out an upload for the track “The Human Centipede” below.
