Many words come to mind when you hear the name Cannibal Corpse, but one truly defines the soon-to-be thirty-year death metal veterans: Unstoppable. Produced by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, Goatwhore), Red Before Black serves to not only reiterate this but to once more raise the stakes, making it very clear who sets the standard when it comes to always compelling music that is equally brutal and complex. Moreover, the band have pushed themselves again, ensuring that it stands out from their catalog. “Throughout our career we’ve tried to improve the precision of both our musical execution and our album production, while still maintaining full-on aggression. ‘Red Before Black‘ continues in that direction, but might go even further on the aggressive side of things. It’s definitely precise, but it has a rawness to it that goes beyond anything we’ve done recently,” asserts bassist Alex Webster. “We really worked super hard crafting these songs, practicing them, and getting them where we wanted to be more so than on any of our previous albums,” adds drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz. “And as Alex said, musically I think it’s the most raw sound we’ve had – and at the same time I think it’s our most focused, tightest and catchiest record.”

Details Of New Album “Khram” Issued By Arkona

“Khram” is the Russian word for temple – and the upcoming title of Arkona’s hotly anticipated eighth studio album, which set to be released on January 19th via Napalm Records!

A ‘Khram’ is a temple shrouded in natural mysticism slumbering behind nocturnal treetops, yet open to everyone. The sincerity and depth that binds all five band members together resonates in the sumptuously dark cover artwork and leading lady Masha`s lyrics that are written in her own blood (which is also part of the artwork)! Arkona used sound samples in its early days, but nowadays cellos, brass parts, wind instruments and throat singing are recorded live meticulously and flow naturally into the band’s harsh metal tunes.

King-sized songs effortlessly shift from blackened pagan metal masterpieces to epic tracks with crystal-clear melodies and piano infusions. Mark your calendars for January 19th as Arkona’s “Khram” is an exuberant and demanding affair that defies genre boundaries with untamable spirit!

Now Russia’s leading pagan metal band has unveiled the stunning album artwork and track list for “Khram”:

1. Mantra (Intro)
2. Shtorm
3. Tseluya zhizn’
4. Rebionok bez imeni
5. Khram
6. V pogonie za beloj ten’yu
7. V ladonyah bogov
8. Volchitsa
9. Mantra (Outro)

Demo Track “Gravity Chasm” Streaming From Conan

The world’s heaviest doom metal-band Conan is streaming the 2012 demo track “Gravity Chasm” in the player below. The song appears on the upcoming release “Man Is Myth – Early Demos” coming November 17th via Napalm Records.

Says guitarist & vocalist Jon Paul Davis: “‘Gravity Chasm’ made it onto the final album and it was always a favorite tribute to Cathedral’s own ‘Ride’ which has a similar riff. I wanted to write a song like this for a while and it kind of came together one day when we were trying to play Iron Maiden in the studio.”

It roars and cranks all over, dull distortion drags nerves into the coldest regions of the world. It’s no accident that the band calls this “Caveman Battle Doom.” “Man Is Myth – Early Demos” is the primordial soup for everything that Conan stands for!

The track list for “Man Is Myth – Early Demos” is:

1. Battle In The Swamp ( Rehearsal room demo 2009 )
2. Satsumo ( Rehearsal room demo 2009 )
3. Krull ( Rehearsal room demo 2009 )
4. Satsumo ( Rehearsal room demo 2006 )
5. Gravity Chasm ( Studio demo 2012 )
6. Foehammer ( Studio demo 2012 )
7. Domed Iron Boss ( Studio demo 2012 )

Century Media Records Inks Deal With Death Alley, New Song Released

Dutch destroyers Death Alley signed on with Century Media Records for the upcoming sophomore album. The band is streaming the new song “The Sewage,” which is available in the player at the bottom.

The band already raised attention with the debut album “Black Magick Boogieland” in 2015. The band, revolving around former The Devil’s Blood guitarist Oeds Beydals, singer Douwe Truijens, Swedish drummer Uno Bruniusson (ex-In Solitude) and latest addition Sander Bus on bass, mainline an unorthodox cross contamination of psychedelic hard rock and punk, played with excellent precision and power. The spirit of Bad Brains and King Crimson, Hawkwind and Poison Idea, and hints of The Stooges and Black Sabbath-worship form the fundament for Death Alley’s solid rock and roll presented with metal finesse and a pitch black psychedelic soul cherry on top.

The ink on the new deal with Century Media Records isn’t dry yet and the band just left the Moon Studios where they recorded the sophomore album with producer Pieter Kloos (Motorpsycho, The Devil’s Blood, Dool, etc.). Right now, the band is hitting the road again with friends in Kadavar with whom very special tour split 7” was created.

The band comments: “We’ve been sailing the sewage for quite a while now, and time has come to harvest the gold and offer it to you on a silver platter. We can spend much time and effort describing the feeling of the new music, the upcoming record, and the European tour with Kadavar, but that will always be just a faint shadow of showing it: so just come to the shows and blast the new song with volume at 11 – that’ll say more than the dozens of synonyms for ‘stoked’. Let us feast on it.”

Check out “The Sewage” here:

Don’t miss seeing Death Alley on tour in Europe and watch out for the new album to be released in early 2018 through Century Media Records.
