Evergrey Posts New Song “Currents” Online

Swedish dark melodic metal masters, Evergrey, are streaming the new song “Currents”, a track from the band’s new studio album, The Atlantic, out on January 25th. Listen below.

The band has worked extensively on the follow-up to their highly successful 2016’s effort The Storm Within (which entered the charts on high positions in numerous countries). Again, Evergrey teamed up with Jacob Hansen, who – just like with the band’s previous releases The Storm Within and Hymns For The Broken took care of mixing and mastering.

Tom S. Englund states: “Guys! This is album number 11! Isn’t that just sick?! It’s also the third album of a concept that might have reached its destination or at least one conclusion. It might also have been something that some of you saw coming or anticipated?

“We’ve fought through giant private obstacles as well as an extremely complicated break-in at our Headquarters studio to bring this album to you. So at the same time as it’s certainly not been painless or at all easy, it’s been rewarding in new ways and our creativity has been painted in colors of honesty and sincerity.

“This is our heaviest, darkest, and perhaps also our most diverse album to date. It’s everything we wanted to compose and the written words come straight from a place of transparency and never before experienced lucidity. Finally, as of yesterday, we’ve reached new shores. We can’t wait for you to share this journey with us and dive into our worlds, our depths, and the waters of The Atlantic!”

– February 2nd, 2017 –

Featuring members of Between the Buried and Me, Haken, Trioscapes, Cynic

On March 10th, Nova Collective (featuring members of Between the Buried and Me, Haken, Trioscapes, Cynic) will release their debut album, The Further Side, via Metal Blade Records. Nova Collective‘s music can be described as fusion, weaving progressive rock influences with world music, jazz and classical, to create something entirely new that is pure aural candy for prog/jazz fans. For a preview of The Further Side, a full-band, live performance video for the first single, “Dancing Machines”, can be viewed at: youtube.com

To pre-order The Further Side, please visit: metalblade.com/novacollective – where the album can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:
–CD
–Black 180g LP
–Clear-red marble LP (limited to 200 copies!)
*digital options are also available!

Nova Collective began in 2014 when bassist Dan Briggs (Between the Buried and Me, Trioscapes) and guitarist Richard Henshall (Haken) began exchanging emails about music; before long, a few demos were fleshed out into full arrangements. Drummer Matt Lynch (Trioscapes, Cynic) and keyboardist Pete Jones (ex-Haken) came on board shortly after to finish writing the album. The Further Side was written on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, with Briggs and Lynch in America and Henshall and Jones in England, sharing session files until the group could get together at the beginning of 2015 to record with engineer Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist). Mixed by Rich Mouser (Neal Morse, Transatlantic), it is immediately clear that The Further Side is a labor of love for all involved, and that enthusiasm shines throughout.

Nova Collective line-up:
Dan Briggs – Bass
Matt Lynch – Drums
Pete Jones – Keyboards
Richard Henshall – Guitar
