Old Wounds Finishes Work On “The Suffering Spirit”

Old Wounds has completed work on upcoming second full-length album, “The Suffering Spirit,” due out later this year via Good Fight Music.

The New Jersey band recorded with producer Andreas Magnusson at Planet Red Studios in Richmond, Virginia. Old Wounds drummer Brandon Gallagher gives this report:

“We just completed the recording of ‘The Suffering Spirit,’ our second LP. I think this release accurately expresses our growth as a band both musically and emotionally. We’ve been on the road almost nonstop since the release of our first LP, ‘From Where We Came Is Where We’ll Rest,’ and in between tours we worked on writing better songs that were released on the Trenchfoot split and the ‘Death Projection’ EP.

“Once it was time to sit down and really start focusing on this new album we knew exactly what we wanted and we went for it. Going into the studio with Andreas was a big help too. He knows his craft extremely well and I think he brought out the best in us.”

Behond Dishonor Releases Breaking Bad Themed “Heisenberg” Music Video

Trenton, New Jersey metalcore mainstays Beyond Dishonor have released a music video for the single “Heisenberg.” Check it out below.

Any fan of the hit television drama Breaking Bad will immediately recognize that “Heisenberg” is a tribute to the popular show, complete with yellow meth lab suits, greasy cigar-smoking drug kingpins, shady factory laboratories galore and more. “Heisenberg” is cut from the band’s upcoming EP “Generations,” set to drop in June 2013.

“It’s an obvious homage to one of our favorite pieces of entertainment, but it is wrapped around a stronger metaphor – just as Walt perfects the formula against his better judgement, so too are we forced to find and perfect the formula for notice and respect in this tumultuous industry and genre,” states lead vocalist Reese Dunlap. “That theme is referenced throughout the song, and goes one step further in the video, where we are, in a sense, a victim of this formulaic control. It is only when we have ‘perfected the formula’ that we can finally escape mediocrity.”

Beyond Dishonor will head out on a 13-date east coast trek beginning April 12th. See below for all currently confirmed tour dates.
