Artillery releases video for third single, “Pain”

– November 8th, 2018 –

November 16th sees Artillery release their new album, The Face Of Fear – which is the successor to 2016′s Penalty By Perception. The Danes have now launched a video for the 3rd single taken off the album – “Pain” – which can be seen here: https://youtu.be/HBtQsvZyquM

Guitarist Michael Stutzer comments: “The story behind ‘Pain’ is a true story, about an alcoholic who was never listening to his friends or family when they tried to make him stop and quit drinking. And when he got to the point where he realized himself, he had to stop – it was too late and there was no way out anymore. The video for ‘Pain’ was recorded in Kolding and Randers by Morten Madsen (MSM production), who also directed our previous videos for ‘Legions’ and ‘Live by the Scythe’.”

The Face Of Fear is the band’s 9th studio album and the third with the current line-up. To hear the previous singles, “The Face Of Fear” and “Crossroads To Conspiracy”, please visit: metalblade.com/artillery – where the record can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:

–ltd. Digipak-CD with 2 exclusive bonus tracks
–180 g black vinyl
–opaque grey blue marbeld vinyl (ltd. 300 – EU-exclusive)
–golden yellow blue marbled vinyl (ltd. 200 – EU-exclusive)
–blue green / white splattered vinyl (ltd. 100 – EMP-exclusive)
–blue/black marbled vinyl (ltd. 300 – US-exclusive)

The lyrics are Artillery as you know them, with subjects concerning the destruction of mankind, double standards, abuse and the looming worst-case scenarios. The Face Of Fear was recorded with long-time producer Soren Andersen at Medley Studios. It’s Soren’s fifth time at the helm, and once again he manages to deliver a monster production. Soren comments: “Pure and raw! Some of the material of this album was originally written in the early 80′s, and that inspired us to go old school this time. Not too many layers, just classic Artillery thrash metal…And Bastholm is better than ever on this one. This is a no-filler album, created together with the band. I’m really proud of the final result and I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as I do!”

Artillery Releases Second Single “Crossroads To Conspiracy”

November 16th sees Artillery release their new album, “The Face Of Fear” – which is the successor to 2016’s “Penalty By Perception.” The Danes have now launched the 2nd single taken off the album – “Crossroads To Conspiracy” – which can be heard below.

Guitarist Michael Stutzer comments: “‘Crossroads To Conspiracy’ was one of the very last songs we crafted, and it’s a hard-hitting melodic thrash metal song with the typical Artillery riffing. The lyrics are about how you have been cursed by the wrong choices you’ve made. The wrongdoings of others that you used to condemn others for have been committed by yourself.”

Artillery streams new album, ‘Penalty by Perception’, via NewNoiseMagazine.com

– March 22nd, 2016 –

Danish power thrash metallers Artillery will release their new full-length, Penalty By Perception, this Friday (March 25th) via Metal Blade Records worldwide. To give fans a preview of the album, the band is now streaming Penalty By Perception in its entirety – alongside an exclusive interview! – at newnoisemagazine.com

To pre-order the record in various formats, please visit: metalblade.com/artillery

Written over the course of the last two years, Artillery‘s eighth full-length draws from their classic albums like Fear of Tomorrow (1985) and By Inheritance (1990), as well as When Death Comes (2009) and Legions (2013). Having recorded at Medley Studios and bringing Soren Andersen on board as the producer, Artillery achieved the sound that they were aiming for: “We worked really hard together to get this amazing sound. I feel the band have come up with some great songs,” asserts guitarist Michael Stutzer. “The best musical performance in the history of Artillery. Can’t wait to hear the fans’ reactions!”

A familiar, yet modern thrash attack, Penalty By Perception delivers the band’s signature riffing, with powerful drumming and melodic singing – and promises to be a new fan favorite in the Danish quintet’s storied career! See below for some acclaimed reviews of the album:

“A logical follow up to 2013′s engaging ‘Legions‘, ‘Penalty by Perception‘ proves Artillery‘s firm grip on a semi-technically advanced brand of thrash puts them in an elite but probable cult niche – which will be cool enough for those who want more musical bite and sophistication to appreciate.”DeadRhetoric.com (USA)

“For me, this is the best Artillery album so far. Thrash bands with proper (considering the classic metal template) singers are few and far between, after all!”Metal Hammer (Germany)

“Hardly any other band is able to blend savage, driving and pumping thrash beats with speed elements and traditional metal melodies to catchy, ball-breaking songs. A strong record through and through!”Deaf Forever (Germany)

The filming was done in an old castle – Hindsgavl castle – in the forest, and in a school near Hesselager. The story behind the video is about death, fate, the meaning and acceptance of life and death. The video was done by M&M Production who also did the video for ‘Legions’.”
