Ragnarok Announces New Bassist Rammr

Norwegian black metal crew Ragnarok will embark on Latin American tour with new bassist Rammr (Jordskipstyrann, Elvarhøi) on September 6th. Having spent the last year using session bass players for live appearances, Ragnarok just announced that Rammr has joined the band on a full-time, permanent basis.

“Originally it was our intention to use a session bassist going forward,” explains founder and frontman Jontho, who recently switched roles to become the band’s vocalist. “However, during the shows he did with us, Rammr’s dedication to his craft, and to Ragnarok itself, became very evident to everyone. He fits in perfectly with the rest of the band, which includes Bolverk on guitars and drummer Daniel Minge (Dauden), not only on stage, but also on a personal level. Most importantly, he understands our ideology, and what Ragnarok expects of its members, and after yet another incredible performance from him at Kaltenbach Open Air recently, I thought it was right to make him a full member.”

Ragnarok is set to hit the road in September for a thirteen-date tour of South America. Routing for the trek will be as follows:

SEP 06 Recife – Brasil
SEP 08 River Rock – Indaial – Brasil
SEP 09 Guaru Metal Fest – Guarulhos – Brazil

Selvans Releasing Split Album With Downfall Of Nur

Split releases are two-a-penny these days, but the new album from atmospheric black metal groups Selvans and Downfall Of Nur promises to be something quite different, with the two bands deciding they did not just want to take part in a split, but rather release a true collaboration in every sense of the word.

Instead of just producing individual recordings in a state of total disconnect, Italy’s Selvans and Argentina’s Downfall Of Nur have not only worked together on the overall concept of the album, they also perform on each others compositions.

The album will be released via Avantgarde Music on the 7th of November, 2016 and features the following track listing:

I. Intro/ SOL
II. Selvans – Pater Surgens
III. Downfall of Nur – Mater Universi

Xandria Comments On Upcoming Album “Theater Of Dimensions”

Xandria’s new album “Theater Of Dimensions” will be released worldwide on January 27th, 2017 via Napalm Records. The band comments:

“After the release of ‘Sacrificium’ we embarked on our longest tour so far. Over 150 shows that took us around the globe. Through so many different countries and diverse cultures. Through so many different, yet inspiring dimensions.

“We brought back plenty of memories, sometimes just bits and pieces, but those stuck to our heads. And it made us see who we are and where we wanted to take our music. Made us fearless. Made us push our boundaries once more. Made us cross some so-called genre defining borders. Made us bundle all our trademarks and take them to the next level.

“All this makes the most colourful Xandria album so far. It contains our most heavy and most emotional moments. Again, producer Joost van den Broek did a phenomenal job capturing the atmosphere down to every detail. ‘A Theater of Musical Dimensions.’ Can’t wait to share the songs with you…”

Xandria will be heavily hitting the road not only in Europe but also in Latin America, Canada and the US. Find all upcoming tour dates and festival shows listed below.

Infernal Curse Releasing New Album “Apocalipsis”

At long last, Infernal Curse reveals full details on second album, “Apocalipsis,” which is set for international release on February 26th via Iron Bonehead Productions.

Hailing from the oft-overlooked scene of Argentina, Infernal Curse is a study in patience and defiance. Forming in 2008, early on the band’s sound was strictly within the blown-out blackthrash characteristic of South America’s most-underground metal, culminating in the clattering ‘n’ chaotic “Awakening of the Damned” debut LP in 2012.

However, it was with the Iron Bonehead-released mini-album “The End Upon Us” in 2014 where Infernal Curse truly found its stride. Reigning in the chaos for a more pulsing form of barbarity, the power-trio was violent and virulent as ever, but pushed the still-overwhelming physicality into the beyond.

Now, with “Apocalipsis,” Infernal Curse has pushed into soul-devouring, hideous and hypnotic territory on an album full of extremes. The track listing is as follows:

1. o ov soahX
2. Litanies Unto Djinn
3. Sin Of Iblis
4. Nasheed Al Mut
5. Obituaries
6. Fragments Of Annihilation
7. Adharma
8. Upon Death He Dwells
9. Etreum
