Armored Saint plot first ever South American tour!

– February 5th, 2018 –

Armored Saint will be heading down to South America for the first time ever! The shows are scheduled for June and include performances in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile, and Colombia. The band is currently at work on a set list full of songs from throughout their entire catalog – it’s an event not to miss for South American fans!

Vocalist John Bush comments: “Finally!! Armored Saint brings its soulful heavy rock to the passionate continent of South America. I went to South America twice with Anthrax and can easily say that those were some of the best shows I did in my life. The rabid fans of places like Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile are die hards of music. Their enthusiasm is unprecedented. Also looking forward to going to Colombia for the first time. Can’t wait!! The Saint‘s Latin roots should be in full force. It’s a perfect match.”

Bassist Joey Vera adds: “After 35 long years we’re finally going to tour in South America. The long wait was bitter, but the experience playing for you all will be oh so sweet. See you soon.”

Armored Saint tour dates
June 2 – Buenos Aires, AR @ Uniclub
June 3 – Sao Paulo, BR @ Fabrique Club
June 5 – Lima, PE @ Discoteca Cocos
June 7 – Santiago, CL @ La Batuta

The only official release to capture this, however, is 1989′s live album, Saints Will Conquer – until now, with Carpe Noctum, which was recorded at the band’s 2015 Wacken festival set, as well as their headlining show in Aschaffenburg, Germany. Ragnarok Announces New Bassist Rammr

Norwegian black metal crew Ragnarok will embark on Latin American tour with new bassist Rammr (Jordskipstyrann, Elvarhøi) on September 6th. Having spent the last year using session bass players for live appearances, Ragnarok just announced that Rammr has joined the band on a full-time, permanent basis.

“Originally it was our intention to use a session bassist going forward,” explains founder and frontman Jontho, who recently switched roles to become the band’s vocalist. “However, during the shows he did with us, Rammr’s dedication to his craft, and to Ragnarok itself, became very evident to everyone. He fits in perfectly with the rest of the band, which includes Bolverk on guitars and drummer Daniel Minge (Dauden), not only on stage, but also on a personal level. Most importantly, he understands our ideology, and what Ragnarok expects of its members, and after yet another incredible performance from him at Kaltenbach Open Air recently, I thought it was right to make him a full member.”

Ragnarok is set to hit the road in September for a thirteen-date tour of South America. Routing for the trek will be as follows:

Selvans Releasing Split Album With Downfall Of Nur

Split releases are two-a-penny these days, but the new album from atmospheric black metal groups Selvans and Downfall Of Nur promises to be something quite different, with the two bands deciding they did not just want to take part in a split, but rather release a true collaboration in every sense of the word.

Instead of just producing individual recordings in a state of total disconnect, Italy’s Selvans and Argentina’s Downfall Of Nur have not only worked together on the overall concept of the album, they also perform on each others compositions.

The album will be released via Avantgarde Music on the 7th of November, 2016 and features the following track listing:

I. Intro/ SOL
II. Selvans – Pater Surgens
III. Downfall of Nur – Mater Universi
IV. Outro/ LUNA

Xandria Comments On Upcoming Album “Theater Of Dimensions”

Xandria’s new album “Theater Of Dimensions” will be released worldwide on January 27th, 2017 via Napalm Records. The band comments:

“After the release of ‘Sacrificium’ we embarked on our longest tour so far. Over 150 shows that took us around the globe. Through so many different countries and diverse cultures. Through so many different, yet inspiring dimensions.

“We brought back plenty of memories, sometimes just bits and pieces, but those stuck to our heads. And it made us see who we are and where we wanted to take our music. Made us fearless. Made us push our boundaries once more. Made us cross some so-called genre defining borders. Made us bundle all our trademarks and take them to the next level.

“All this makes the most colourful Xandria album so far. It contains our most heavy and most emotional moments. Again, producer Joost van den Broek did a phenomenal job capturing the atmosphere down to every detail. ‘A Theater of Musical Dimensions.’ Can’t wait to share the songs with you…”
