Ur Releasing Debut Album “Black Vortex” via Arachnophobia Records

Following the well-received EP “Hail Death”, black/heavy metal act Ur will be releasing their debut full-length album, “Black Vortex” via Arachnophobia Records on 22 December 2017. The cover artwork was done by Krzysztof Sikorski.

“Black Vortex” is a natural evolution of the band’s previous work. The band’s mastermind, Gregor, comments that he treats “both releases as one whole, musically and lyrically. Some of the tracks are philosophical in nature. They are filled with sadness and pity over human existence. Other tracks, however, are something you’d expect from Ur : aggressive, primitive anthems of hatred about human greed, materialism and stupidity. Let the Black Vortex swallow you!”

Ur consist of seasoned musicians from Poland who have contributed to acts such as Bloodthirst or Bloodstained. Their first EP “Hail Death” was warmly received by the metal media and fans alike, with MetalTalk.net calling it “a superb debut offering”, while No Clean Singing claimed the EP has “a visceral, primal appeal”. A year later, with winter on the horizon, the beast will once again roar its primal sounds.

“Black Vortex” Track list:

1. Black Vortex
2. Black Spark
3. We Are Mortal
4. Shed My Skin
5. The Beckoning Silence
6. The Last Feast
7. Cleansing by Fire
8. The Goddess of the World
9. Oblivion

December’s Fire Re-Releasing “Vae Victis” Album

“Vae Victis” by December’s Fire is a landmark of its own epoch, and now thanks to a reissue by Arachnophobia Records, this gem will be available once again. The remastered CD is due out on the 25 of April. 2017.

The newly remastered title track is streaming below and pre-orders are online here. Whether for authentic fascination or tongue-in-cheek nostalgia, the memory of the only December’s Fire full-length lives on.

Originally released in 1996 by Last Epitaph Productions from Germany, “Vae Victis” in many ways embodies the aspirations of the Polish metal underground of the mid-90s period – especially of those who sought new ways of expression on its fringes. Piotr Weltrowski, member of Hefeystos and Behemoth collaborator, was at the forefront of this current. December’s Fire was his solo undertaking.

Verses of songs such as “Patrz jak plona dzikie róze” (translates to: “Look How the Wild Roses Burn”) and the title track were given a passionate interpretation by Behemoth’s Nergal, and they are now something which dozens of fans know by heart. Marcin Rybicki of Left Hand Sounds studio was responsible for remastering and refreshing the sound of “Vae Victis.”

Wolfkhan Releasing Debut Album “Cyber Necro Spirituals”

An album consisting of nine bizarre stories stemming from mental trash and dark corners of odd fantasy, Wolfkhan’s debut full-length album, “Cyber Necro Spirituals,” is due out April 25th, 2017 via Arachnophobia Records. Wolfkhan is a rather unknown name. The project’s history, however, dates back to the early 90s. Mainman Marcin Gasiorowski, also known as the leader of Thy Worshiper, comments:

“Wolfkhan has come into being after Thy Worshiper’s demo ‘Tym z krainy cieni’ (‘To those from the shadow realm’). Somehow, I’ve always had some other ideas which I thought were worth recording. This is when we released the first demo.

“The second one saw the light of day after Thy Worshiper album ‘Signum’ had been unleashed. You can still watch the video for the single ‘El Diablo’ on YouTube. I have always cooperated on subsequent Wolfkhan’s releases with Thy Worshiper guitar players. Recently, I felt the creative call when we had come back with ‘Czarna dzika czerwien’ record. There was something I needed to get out of my system.”

To many, a soon-to-be-unleashed debut album will be the first exposure to Wolfkhan. Thy Worshiper’s longtime guitarist Dariusz Kubala, as well as the band’s past and present female vocalists have contributed to the material. However, when compared to last year’s “Klechdy” record, the contents of “Cyber Necro Spirituals” are more like an audio acid trip.

Wolfkhan’s founder explains: “I didn’t have a direction. The whole thing just came out by itself. One inspiration which possibly affected the way this record is like was the reading experience of the ‘Black Oceans’ novel by Jacek Dukaj.”

Vidian Releases “Pole Shift” Music Video

Vidian extends a reputation for boundary-pushing music to the visual medium as today a brand new music video for the twisted, bass-driven track “Pole Shift” comes online. The song comes off the “A Piece of the End” EP, which was released in May of 2016 on Arachnophobia Records.

The group was originally established in 2008 in the Polish town of Bydgoszcz and proudly avoids treading over old ground, with no release sounding the same. Most recent output, “A Piece of the End,” is a 20-minute EP filled with melancholy and technical grooves.

Before signing to Arachnophobia Records, the act previously self-released two full-length albums: “Irrelevant Nonsense Machine Element” (2011) and “Transgressing the Horizon” (2015).
