Superjoint Streaming “Caught Up In The Gears Of Application”

In less than two weeks, Superjoint will unleash the sonic deviance of the “Caught Up In The Gears Of Application” full-length. Captured at the famed Nodferatu’s Lair, the eleven-track recording marks the band’s first new output since 2003’s “Lethal Dose Of American Hatred.”

Produced by Superjoint co-founder Philip H. Anselmo and Stephen Berrigan, and mastered by Scott Hull at Visceral Sounds, “Caught Up In The Gears Of Application” spews forth an acrimonious crossover of hardcore punk, metal, and unrelenting, hostile, New Orleans-style angst.

As a precursor to the record’s official unveiling, today the rabid sounds of title track “Caught Up In The Gears Of Application” comes online. Reflects Anselmo, “The title track pretty much sums up the overall feel of the LP. It speaks for itself, loudly, clearly, and passionately, whatever a person’s definition of that would be. Let the music do the talking and shape the lyrics to fit your own life.”

Voice Of Ruin Parts Ways With Drummer

Voice Of Ruin just issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band’s long-time drummer:

“After more than 7 years (since the beginning of the band), our dear drummer Olivier has decided to put an end to his journey in Voice of Ruin. It came as a shock to us, especially to me, as we founded the band together with Nils in late 2008.

“As of today, Olivier has different goals than the rest of the band and he choose to step down rather than preventing the project to move on. As you can imagine, being in a band like Voice Of Ruin takes quite some time and requires a lot of sacrifices and dedication. We respect his decision as band members and above all as FRIENDS!

“We wish him all the best with his futur musical ventures. Be assured that we will stay in touch and maintain this friendship that we’ve nurtured for so many years! Meanwhile go check his rock band The Mudcats!

“We won’t cancel any show as Olivier will continue to fulfill his role as drummer until we find the right guy (thank you buddy). We already have a few guys interested by the gig and we will start the audition process next week. If you’re interested, don’t hesitate to send us your application.
More updates soon!”

Todtgelichter Splitting With Guitarist Claudio

Hamburg, Germany based avant-garde metal act Todtgelichter (which was covered in our look at non-traditional black metal) is currently looking for a new guitar player due to the imminent departure of longtime member Claudio. The band comments:

“With a dedicated new guitar player we aim to strengthen our live presence in 2014 and to start the composing process for album number 5.

“We are searching for YOU: you are no rookie, you have a sense for melodies and songwriting, you play tight, groovy and in time and (ideally) are familiar with the songs of our last two albums ‘Angst’ and ‘Apnoe.’ Furthermore, you are able to rehearse twice a week in Hamburg/Hamm; you like rehearsing as much as playing live and you are always looking to improve your playing and to broaden your musical horizon.

“If all that is the case, send us a short notice to mails@todtgelichter.de and we will provide you with tabs and song examples so you can prepare for tryouts with us. Write us now – we’re waiting for your application!”

Todtgelichter released latest full-length album “Apnoe” earlier this year (reviewed here).

Infernal Seeking Drummer, Pushes Back New Album

David Parland of Swedish act Infernal has checked in with the following announcement about seeking a new drummer and pushing back a new album release:

“Infernal is currently seeking a pro Death/Black/Thrash/Heavy metal drummer for immediate recordings. This for the up-coming full-length ‘THE INFERNAL RETRIBUTION’ which has been in the making for a long process of time, but is planned to be recorded sometime next year, with a release not too long after.

“What we seek is a drummer with high skills and of course with experiences from other bands, and preferably living in Stockholm or other part of Sweden, but others can always apply as well.

“Unfortunately, the long planned album has been delayed due to both some member problems and a few personal problems as well, but I’ve continued to write through all this time, and have most material ready finally. Since 2010, when we did the last EP ‘THE INFERNAL RETURN,’ when we split with longer time drummer Tomas Asklund (GORGOROTH, ex-DISSECTION). Not much hse happened officially, but the songs and the album have existed and now been in my mind for several years, and the time is now for us to start the recordings, despite how long it has taken to come this far.

“As fast as we have solved this seemingly everlasting drummer problem plaguing us, we are ready to go. As earlier said the music of Infernal today can be described as a mix between old Necrophobic ,(but with blast beats)/Dissection/Slayer and Morbid Angel. This compared to the old SATANIC HOLOCAUST METAL style of the first two CD’S, which almost solely consisted of ultra fast blast-beats and extreme satanic chantings through the whole songs.

“The sound of Infernal today is ‘less’ extreme, but still very brutal and absolutely 100 % Satanic Death/Black Metal. Drummers who are interested can send their application/mail to: (together with musicfiles with drumming and photo and some personal info) officialinfernal@gmail.com.”
