Fear Factory Posts “Genexus” Album Trailer

“Genexus” – the 9th Fear Factory studio album – will drop via Nuclear Blast Entertainment on August 7th.

Until then, the band is setting about whetting the appetite of eager fans by releasing the first trailer. Find out more about the new album and hear a snippet of the “Protomech” track below.

“The word genexus is a hybrid of two words; genesis and nexus,” explains vocalist Burton C. Bell. “This word describes the next transition in human evolution as man moves forward to a ‘mechanical’ state of being. Ray Kurzweil predicts that the singularity will occur around 2045. Genexus is the term for that next evolutionary process. Where humans are machines, machines are human and the differences are oblivious to the naked eye.

“This album is a record of thought patterns, psychology and struggles of the Genexus generation. The cognitive machine has arrived, and it wants autonomy from the industry that created it. This machine struggles, like every other human has throughout the course of history. This is the story of every one of us.”

Obese Inks Deal With Argonauta

Argonauta Records has checked in with the following announcement about inking a deal with Obese:

“We’re excited to announce today a new band in the Argonauta Records family. Obese is crunchy, catchy, powerful and above all heavy as hell.

“Bringing the groove back into stoner and feeding your appetite with fat tunes that will leave you hungry for more. The weight and thickness of sound is being explored one track at a time: corpulency never felt that good. The immense riffage in a vast landscape of bulldozing euphony will leave nobody unsatisfied.

“Obese is releasing their debut album on Argonauta Records in May 2015. A first official teaser is available below.”

GrimWolf Releasing New EP “Order Of The Lycan”

The werewolves from GrimWolf are set to release the follow-up album to their 2011 full-length “Lycanthrope.” Continuing to be all things DIY, the werewolf clan has embarked on producing, mixing, and mastering the forthcoming EP, entitled “Order of the Lycan.” The following press release was also issued:

“Giving heed to classic metal and thrash of the past, GrimWolf aims to satisfy your appetite for all things brutal. This is quite possibly a heavier hitting collection of songs than it’s predecessor. “They are now in the process of collaborating with 13 O’Clock studios in preparation for a Lyric video as well as full fledged music video. Tour dates will be posted soon. Pre-Orders for ‘Order of the Lycan’ can be purchased now at this location. The digital release will be available on Halloween!”
