Grindmother Signs With Extreme Management Group

Remember the appearance of rather unorthodox group Grindmother some time back? That distinctive Canadian mother / son band — featuring the 68 year old Grindmother herself — has much more coming on the horizon!

The project just inked a worldwide deal with Extreme Management Group, home to bands like Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Rings of Saturn, and more. Grindmother released debut album “Age of Destruction” in April 2016, and has so far toured across the USA, Canada, and Japan, but that’s just the beginning.

Upon signing, the band commented:, “Grindmother is honored to join the ranks of Extreme Management Group. We are elated by this opportunity to focus solely on our art, while the pros at EMG handle the rest. May this treaty usher in an epoch of goodwill and Grindcore!”

Manager Mark Kloeppel added, “This band is something very needed in the world. It’s mere existence works to tear down social constraints in music, and completely encompasses the essence of the genre. I’m proud to be working with this stellar act!”

Stay tuned for more news on Grindmother coming soon!

Tombs premieres “Walk With Me in Nightmares” video via Ozzfest Facebook

– July 25th, 2017 –

After recently announcing their appearance at Ozzfest on November 4th at the Glen Helen Amphitheater & Festival Grounds in San Bernardino, CA, Tombs is now premiering their new video for “Walk With Me in Nightmares” via Ozzfest’s Facebook. To watch “Walk With Me in Nightmares” [which was directed/edited by David Brodsky (mgenyc.com)], please visit: https://www.facebook.com/ozzfestofficial – where the video will be debuting at 11am PDT / 2pm EDT / 8pm CEST. Fans can also view “Walk With Me in Nightmares” now at: : youtube.com/watch?v=JoC0j-kJrXY

Tombs recently released their fourth full-length, The Grand Annihilation – the group’s most experimental record to-date. The blasting, scathing yet melodic black metal savagery of opener “Black Sun Horizon” and “Way Of The Storm” are very much built to destroy, while wielding a poignancy that is undeniable – both of which stand in strong contrast to the uncomfortable post-punk squall of “Underneath” that showcases front-man Mike Hill’s Nick Cave/Ian Curtis-esque singing voice, while the likes of the throbbing “Saturnalian” and unnerving tribal thunder of “Walk With Me In Nightmares” stand in categories all of their own. While every track on The Grand Annihilation stands separate from those around it, it is still a cohesive collection, and at no point do the stylistic twists and turns undermine its coherence.

Fistula Streaming New Song “Serial Vapist” From Brand Album “The Shape of Doom to Cumm )))”

Ohio’s pessimists and miserycore veterans from Fistula are streaming a new song entitled “Serial Vapist”, taken from the band’s brand new album “The Shape of Doom to Cumm )))”, out in stores now via Totem Cat Records.

Check out now “Serial Vapist” below.

Explains vocalist Dan Harrington:

“‘Serial Vapist’ was the final song written for the album. Back in March, I was crashing on Bahb’s couch before our appearance at Berserker III Fest. He started playing this killer riff on his acoustic guitar. The next day we had practice, he and Corey jammed on the riff and shortly after the song was complete. The day after that we recorded the entire album except for the two songs that didn’t have lyrics (‘Serial Vapist’ and ‘Sabbath Wants To Do A Split With Me’). Corey and I revisited some of our original ideas for The Shape Of Doom To Cumm))). The lyrics wrote themselves instantaneously. I worked in a record store for nine years, so writing lyrics to antagonize doom metal hipster dickheads was a fucking piece of cake, as a pretentious record nerd, I’ve been guilty of half of the shit I’m making fun of.”
