Sanctuary And Former Nevermore Vocalist Warrel Dane Dead At 48

Warrel Dane, the lead singer of Sanctuary and Nevermore, has passed away at the age of only 48 after suffering a heart attack during the night. He was on tour in Brazil, where guitarist told UOL;

“He died in the night. He had a heart attack. He was in the apartment where he stayed during the recording of the album when it happened. I gave him cardiac massage and we called the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU), who came very fast, but when they arrived, he was already dead.”

The singer first came to prominence with Sanctuary, with whom he released two studio albums, before forming Nevermore, which achieved considerable commercial success. After Nevermore folded, he revived Sanctuary and the band released a third album, “The Year The Sun Died” in 2014, with a fourth record, “Inception” following only this year. He will be greatly missed.

Crafteon Streaming New Track “Dagon”

Denver, CO’s Crafteon is the conception of vocalist and guitarist Lord Mordiggian, whom has been inspired to create an entire album influenced by his favorite author H.P. Lovecraft.

Set to unleash debut “Cosmic Reawakening” on August 25th, the eight tracks on this release are based on classic Lovecraft tales such as “The Outsider,” “Dagon,” and “From Beyond.” First single “What The Moon Brings” was unleashed earlier this month and now these dark lords have unleashed next track “Dagon” below.

Lord Mordiggian explains: “This track is based on Lovecraft’s tale of the same name, in which a deranged veteran submarine crewman is driven to a morphine overdose, throwing himself from his apartment window when he cannot obliterate from his memory a horrifying encounter with an ancient, cyclopean creature. This track reflects the human incapacity for surviving the black gnosis–the maddening knowledge of that which should not be known. ‘Dagon’ showcases Crafteon’s style through its aggressive riffing, atmospheric passages, and manic vocals.”

1. The Outsider (5:21)
2. What The Moon Brings (4:14)
3. The Temple (5:09)
4. Dagon (5:10)
5. The Colour Out of Space (6:06)
6. The White Ship (5:25)
7. From Beyond (5:52)
8. The Whisperer In The Darkness (6:08)

New Album “Atlas” Announced By Fear Of Domination

Finnish shock industrial metal act Fear of Domination will give a totally new definition to “spring break” by unleashing its fourth studio album “Atlas” on March 11th. Vocalist and the lyricist Saku Solin describes Atlas as “the darkest and the heaviest album the band has ever done.”

Solin says that “Atlas” is “about the moment, when all the light in the world has faded, and a human being is left to wander with his crushing burden.

“The question is, is the burden self-created, imagined or concrete. We’ve all had a bit of an emotion-filled year. I think we have efficiently packed primitive rage, desperation and misery here. It wasn’t a conscious decision. This is how we felt, and fuck, we did what had to be done.”

The string instruments are crunching lower than before and composer and keyboardist Lasse Raelahti has created a harmony of chaos and beauty with his synthesizer. Fans were given the first taste of blood, when the band released the music video single El Toro in the autumn. Check it out in the player below.

The lyrics of “Atlas” um are also more straight and brutal than before. Vocal producer Helena Haaparanta whipped everything out of Solin. He reveals that the rasp and growl vocals can change quickly to “freakishly annoyingly poppish” singing.

“We have always loved to create some contrast. Even though the lyrics are about the collapse of the mind and the world, suddenly there can be an opera-kind-of part or then it could be from E-Types disco song.”

The drum and the bass recordings were captured at D-studio, the guitars in the apartment of the lead guitarist and composer Johannes Niemi and the vocals in another studio in city of Kerava. Producers Alex Azzali and Nicholas Barker mixed and mastered the album in Italy. The cover art (shown below) is created by Timo Kokko.

Fear of Domination is ready for the “live-shows of the spring” and is more insane than ever. The band is famous for their theatrical and half-crazy shows filled with energy. 2016 started with sold out MeriRock in January and will continue with three day tour of MetalOrgy.

”We are looking forward to the gigs! We are able to use some new ideas and of course, to play the new songs. There are a couple of new ones, that I am sure will rock the hell out of the crowd”, Solin smiles.

In Flames Cancels Nancy Concert In The Wake Of Paris Terrorist Attacks

Swedish metal outfit In Flames has canceled last night’s (Saturday, November 14) concert in Nancy, France in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks, Friday night (November 13).

Explains the band: “In the light of the absolutely horrific events in Paris last night, we have decided to cancel tonights show in Nancy. We will spend the day thinking of our friends, colleagues, fans and families that were affected.”

Meanwhile French newspaper Le Monde has posted a graphic video, shot by reporter Daniel Psenny, showing the carnage that took place outside the Eagles Of Death Metal concert. The
video footage shows dozens of people fleeing the Bataclan concert hall under gunfire from terrorist attackers.

Daniel Psenny recorded the video from his apartment window and was later shot in the arm as he attempted to help people shelter in his apartment, and is being treated at the Georges-Pompidou hospital. He said the bullet was fired from a window.

Psenny told Le Monde he was watching TV and heard what he thought was firecrackers. “But the noise was loud, so I went to the window,” he said, “I live on the second floor, and my apartment overlooks the emergency exits Bataclan.

“Everyone was running from all sides, I saw guys on the floor, blood… I understood that there was something serious. I asked what was happening. Everyone rushed back to the Rue Amelot and Boulevard Voltaire. A woman was clinging to the Bataclan window on the second floor. I thought of the images of 9/11.

Psenny stopped filming and went down to the street to aid the injured: “I opened the door of the building. There was a man lying on the sidewalk with another man we tried to drag him to safety in the lobby. At that moment, I was hit by a bullet. I do not know what happene], my mind is a blank. But I remember it felt like a firecracker exploding in my left arm, and I saw that it was spurting blood. I think the shooter was at the Bataclan window. The man we saved was shot in the leg. He was an American. He vomited, he was cold, we thought that he would die. We called the emergency services, but they could not evacuate us. I called a doctor friend who told me how to make me a tourniquet with my shirt. And we stayed there until the assault was over.”
