Soreption Forced To Pull Out Of Upcoming Suffocation Tour Due To Visa Issues

Soreption won’t be able to take part in this fall’s Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation and Krisiun tour due to Visa issues. Soreption issued the below statement:

“To our fans in North America, unfortunately the visa issues that forced us to depart Summer Slaughter early have still not resolved themselves and we are forced to step down from the upcoming Suffocation Death Chopping Tour.

We were excited to join our good friends on this tour as well as get our new music out to our fans so this is a disappointment for us. We ask our fans to support the tour and the other artists on tour including Visceral Disgorge who will be taking our place in the lineup.

This tour is sure to kill and should not be missed! Don’t worry, as soon as this is cleared up we’ll be getting out to you to celebrate the release!”

Said trek will serve as the farewell tour for Suffocation vocalist Frank Mullen.

Produced by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Queensryche, Whitechapel, etc.), The Outer Ones sees Revocation pushing both the death metal and progressive elements of their signature sound harder than ever. “I knew that I wanted to go in a darker direction, and this is our most death metal album to date,” states vocalist/guitarist Dave Davidson. “Sometimes when death metal bands go down the prog route they lose some of that edge, but we wanted to keep the aggression at the forefront of what we do while still pushing our boundaries.” Moving away from the societal and historical themes that informed 2016′s Great is Our Sin, this time Davidson has immersed himself in the fantastic, evoking one of the great writers of the sci-fi/horror genre. “The title is my ode to H.P. Lovecraft and the entities of pure cosmic horror that rule that universe he created. Since the new music we were writing was so evil and spacey in sections it seemed to be the right title to fit the overall vibe. But while the lyrical content is largely influenced by such writings, in every allegory there is of course some reflection of the real world, so I enjoy writing in a way that could have one overlaying meaning and then another deeper, symbolic meaning as well.”

Cattle Decapitation reveals details for rarities collection, ‘Medium Rarities’

– September 20th, 2018 –

Launches album track, “An Exposition of Insides” (Japanese bonus track from ‘Monolith of Inhumanity’), online

On November 23rd, Cattle Decapitation will release their new rarities collection, Medium Rarities, via Metal Blade Records. Featuring 6 previously unreleased pre-Human Jerky (1999) demos with front-man Travis Ryan on guitar (while also handling vocal duties), plus the long-sought-after To Serve Man (2002) bonus track, “Rotting Children For Remote Viewing” – in addition to other rarities (including the 6 songs from 2005′s split EP with Caninus!) – this compilation spans the band’s 22-year long career and is a must-have for any Cattle Decapitation fan.

Travis Ryan comments: “‘Medium Rarities‘ is a project we started about 10 years ago, and we’re thrilled to see it finally happen! In 2008, I started compiling unreleased tracks, import bonus tracks and 7″ releases for a rarities release – and even had the art created by the legendary Wes Benscoter, when we discovered that a key track was missing that we wanted to include on it. Our album ‘To Serve Man‘ had a bonus track ready in case there was a Japanese version released, but that never happened – and the band members’ copies of the track got lost, seemingly forever! We felt a rarities compilation released without that bonus track would be a weird idea, and so the project got shelved until recently. Heather Parsons of Metal Blade finally was able to unearth the track from an old disc that was tucked away in the Metal Blade vault! The lyrics to the song were unearthed along with it, and so we quickly got to work with compiling and mastering the rest. This is a nice, concise compilation of unreleased and hard-to-find tracks, complete with lyrics and cheeky vinyl color variant schemes, based on how people like their meat prepared. The European vinyl variants also resemble diseased meats…But my favorite part is the cassette, which was created to look like the vintage cassette releases we grew up on – complete with the old school Metal Blade axe logo! A lot of thought and work went into this release, and we are pleased to finally be able to present to you…’Medium Rarities‘!”

For a preview of Medium Rarities, “An Exposition of Insides” (a Japanese bonus track from 2012′s Monolith of Inhumanity) can be streamed now at: metalblade.com/cattledecapitation – where the collection can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:
