“Earlier this year we released a 12-part series showing the making of our album ‘Emperor Of Sand‘’ We’ve cut it all together, added over 30 minutes of never before seen footage and turned it into a documentary! This is a deep look into the making of the album and the inspiration behind the music. With the GRAMMY nominations ‘Emperor Of Sand‘ has received this week, we thought it was the perfect time to release it. We hope you enjoy the documentary. If you do, feel free to share it!”

Varmia Releasing “Z Mar Twych” On Cassette

On May 19th, Folkvangr Records will release the cassette version of “Z Mar Twych” by Polish black metal band Varmia. The cassette is limited to 100 copies on translucent red cassette with white ink and hand-numbered, double sided 7-panel sleeve in a crystal clear case.

You can pre-order the cassette over here and the band commented about the release: “We are very enthusiastic about the cassette release of our debut ‘Z Mar Twych.’ The sound of that piece from the very beginning was about the dirt and organic tones. I planned to make it as old school as was possible at the time. Our cups go high to Mark as he is the one that put it all together and delivered this exclusive form of our dear first piece. Slava!”

Iron Whip Posts New Song “This Is The End”

Atlanta noise metal band Iron Whip today reveals new track “This is the End,” taken from forthcoming album “Absence of White.”

The band commented: “‘This Is the End’ is a passive aggressive take on conversations I’ve had with people that seem to live by the ‘do what I say, not what I do’ code. Then having internal battles on whether or not to keep humoring relationships that clearly have no benefit. I seem to fuck myself every time.”

Iron Whip will release new EP “Absence of White” on October 21st, 2016. The album takes elements of noise rock, heavy metal, sludge and hard rock and blends it all together into a cohesive whole.

Or, if it looks too much pretentious, just call it WEIRD METAL!”

Accursed Spawn Posts “Date Rape Psychosis” Performance Footage

Accursed Spawn has released footage of “Date Rape Psychosis” from a recent performance in Montreal, QC at Bar L’Alizé. Drummer Jay Cross comments:

“Date Rape Psychosis is probably the first song most people heard from us. We released it as part of our first demo, Dismember the Informant, back in 2010 and have been playing it live ever since. It’s great to have some proper footage of it to show people, since the original recording is pretty lo-fi. Ondes Chocs did a great job of putting the it all together!”

The footage was recorded by Dr. Light for the Quebec-based blog Ondes Chocs. Accursed Spawn recently released second EP “Putrid,” which can be purchased at Bandcamp here.

“Olli returns to Macbeth: Let’s make it short! We have it all together again with Olli and cleared all the confusion out of the way. Ultimately this connects us more than divides us. Probably we should have time off to take a break.
