The Agonist Posts “The Raven Eyes” Music Video

As The Agonist gets ready to hit the road, the band just released a video for “The Raven Eyes,” taken from Napalm Records debut album “Five,” which was released late last year.

Guitarist Danny Marino comments: “Writing this was a departure for Vicky and I but it may have been one of the most rewarding as songwriters. It allowed us to explore sounds and emotions we’ve always wanted to but could never quite get to in a metal setting.

“Also, working with Igor Khoroshev (Yes) really helped bring out the full depth of Vicky’s piano and string arrangements. The lyrics were originally inspired by stories of the renaissance plague doctors. FTB Visuals was able to take these themes and create a modern world storyline with an equally dark overtone that captured the painful emotions in the song.”

The band is currently preparing for a headline Canadian tour starting August 4th in Montreal, QC and running through August 29th in Regina, SK. A complete list of dates can be found after the video.

Wintersun Announces Second Guitarist Asim Searah

Wintersun – the band that bilked you all out of €439,840 for a digital album release at €50 a pop – proudly presents a new second guitarist today: 27 year old Asim Searah. Asim was born in Pakistan and moved to Finland at the age of 18 to pursue a career in music and has been playing in several bands and projects since then.

Jari Mäenpää commented: “We’ve known him for a long time and we knew he is a great singer, but we didn’t realize how a talented and skillful guitar player he is. Asim was actually the first one who sent us an audition video, which surprised us very positively. After the video auditions and two rounds of live auditions we realized he was exactly what we were looking for. He is very motivated and passionate with a good heavy metal attitude – a great guitar player and vocalist to improve the live sound of Wintersun even further!”

Asim commented: “It’s an honour to be a part of a band that I have looked up to for many years. It’s definitely a dream come true and I’m super excited to share the stage with Wintersun!”
