New Album “The New Reality” Announced By Operation: Mindcrime

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of “The New Reality,” the new album from Geoff Tate (ex-Queensryche)’s Operation: Mindcrime on December 1st.

“The New Reality” is the third and final chapter in the musical trilogy from iconic metal vocalist Geoff Tate. Following a little over one year after the release of the second chapter, “Resurrection,” in 2016 and about two years after the first chapter, “The Key,” Operation: Mindcrime is a creative platform that continues in the spirit of the historic album of the same name, spawning concepts as grand as the music, and intertwining the intensity of the former Queensryche vocalist’s iconic past with the provocative, progressive mindset that has made him one of music’s most resolute forces and frontmen. Joined by a cast of musicians, Kelly Gray, John Moyer, Simon Wright, Scott Mercado, Scott Moughton, Brian Tichy, & Mike Ferguson, whose talent and resumes speak volumes for the quality of musicianship that will be on display here, “The New Reality” is a another fine progressive rock/metal entry from Tate.

Details Of New Album “Vox Animae” Announced By Seventh Veil

Italian modern hard rock act Seventh Veil announced details of the upcoming new release “Vox Animae.” The album is the follow up to the debut release “White Trash Attitude” and will be released on February 5, 2016 via Pure Steel Publishing.

Hailing from Verona, Seventh Veil has found its way out of the local hard rock scene to national gigs and European tours. After the first EP “Nasty Skin” was released in early 2012, the band has been engaged in a non-stop promotion that garnered reviews from around the world and the first European live experience in Greece. At the end of that same year, they signed with Street Symphonies Records and started recording the debut full-length “White Trash Attitude.”

With that album they toured around Europe sharing the stage with the likes of Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal (Gun’s N’ Roses), Hardcore Superstar, Cyanide4, Silver Addiction and they took part in the “Masters of Rock 2013” supporting Yngwie Malmsteen, Avantasia, Powerwolf, The 69Eyes and more.
After some line up changes, the band entered in the studio in December 2014 with Oscar Burato (Atomic Stuff Studio) and Andrea Moserle (ex-Upon This Dawning) as co-producers aiming at a new mature sound influenced by modern hard rock bands like Sixx AM, Stone Sour and Pop Evil. The result is “Vox Animae,” in which the band explores more personal themes shouting out the vision of life and death and everything in between.

The track list for “Vox Animae” is:

1. Vox Animae/rEvolution
2. Devil in Your Soul
3. Living Dead
4. Together Again
5. Broken Promises
6. Song For M
7. Dad 8. Noway Train
9. Begging for Mercy
10. No Pain No Gain
11. Nothing Lasts Forever
12. Sms

Kaine Streaming “Justice Injustice” Single, Recruits New Bassist Stephen Ellis

Kaine has a new single online titled “Justice Injustice,” which can be heard below. The single was recorded in two days at Threecircles Recording Studio earlier this year and was produced by Ade Hare, who had previously worked on the band’s 2012 debut album “Falling Through Freedom.” The track was mastered by Z-Plane who had also worked on the band’s last album “The Waystone.”

The song marks a return to the band’s heavier routes with big riffs and harsh vocals provided by front man Rage Sadler, epic lead guitars and solos from lead guitarists Saxon Davids and Ant Murch while being backed by the thunderous rhythm section of Dan Mailer (making his last appearance) on bass and Chris MacKinnon on drums.

Kaine also now announces Stephen Ellis (Drop Dead Fred/Failing to Fly) has joined the band – replacing Mailer – on bass ahead of the preparation for the recording of an upcoming third album to be released on Revival Metal Records.

Stephen Ellis commented: “Kaine has been one of my favourite bands on the local scene for a while. I have played with Chris MacKinnon in one of my other bands (Drop Dead Fred Band) for a few years now and have been supportive of the band throughout. I was originally brought into the band as a temp but I was asked to take the role full time after the first practice, which is very cool. Dan Mailer is obviously going to be a very hard act to follow as that guy is an insane bass player but I will try my hardest to continue his legacy.”

“We played three dates in Germany for the ‘Australian Takeover Tour,’ and after the first show, we knew we had to get the others on film. These were some of the best shows of our lives! It was such an amazing experience and we can’t wait to get back. Heading to the other side of the planet to play music, and to see that people are into it is such an amazing feeling. We are five guys from Australia taking our music around the world and it just goes to show that if you put your mind to something, and feel really passionately about it, you can achieve anything. Steve ‘N’ Seagulls Inks Deals With Spinefarm

Five nutcases. A whole bunch of instruments. The Finnish countryside. All that adds up to Steve ‘N’ Seagulls. The band just signed to Spinefarm Records, which comments:

“This ragtag crew has been active since 2011, but they hit like a hammer in the summer of 2014, thanks to the popularity of their YouTube videos, which found them offering up S’N’S’ed versions of metal classics like Iron Maiden’s ‘The Trooper’ and AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck.’

“The videos have earned praise and coverage from the elite of the metal world, with Guitar World, Revolver, Loudwire, Blabbermouth and Metal Sucks picking up on and writing about their efforts. ‘Nuff said.

“Now you have the chance to see and hear Steve ‘N’ Seagullsfor yourself, as the band has signed to Spinefarm. Banjo keeps a rollin’ and accordion keeps on burnin’. Your quality of life will probably be greatly improved once you mindmeld with this musical experience. Hold on to your hats and skirts, kids!”

Steve ‘N’ Seagulls is: Pukki Kaalinen on double bass and vocals; Wild Till Hiltunen on accordion, mandolin and Casio; Herman de German on banjo, guitar and vocals; Remmel on vocals, acoustic guitar and mandolin; and Puikkonen on drums and vocals.

One thing Steve ‘N’ Seagulls want you to know? The band is not a joke act or a novelty. “It took us about three years to get the sound we were aiming at,” the band said of its origins and history. “We wanted to give a new life to songs we grew up with, not just do basic covers, and our agency provided the opportunity. Our agency needed a ‘concept band’ for theme events in restaurants. Now, we had been doing those kind of gigs before and knew the places to be probably half-empty. Still, it sounded like a fun project, so we took the job. After the first 20-gig tour, we wanted to keep on doing it and they kept on booking us gigs in nightclubs, pubs, cruise boats and such. After replacing our singer, we posted ‘The Trooper’ video on YouTube simply because we hadn’t published anything with the new lineup. Then it just took off somehow. But we aren’t complaining!”

The band is working on its first album at Studio Bad Mama. The concept is a mixture of S’N’S’s love for music and a celebration of childhood idols.

Curimus To Release Second Album “Artificial Revolution”

Finnish thrash outfit Curimus just celebrated its 10th anniversary and is gearing up for the release of second full-length album, “Artificial Revolution.”

The album will be released on April 25th via the band’s own label, Freezing Penguin, and distributed worldwide by Svart Records. The following press release was also issued about the album:

“The production on Curimus’ Artificial Revolution is the handiwork of both the band themselves and main producer Tom Gardiner and studio wizard Daniel Rantanen. When compared to debut album Realization (2011), much more work was done with pre-production on this one.

“After the first round of demos, it was already clear that the material destined to become the second Curimus album was to be more powerful and diverse than ever before. In production sessions, more focus was given to building a solid set of tracks, and this led to many songs experiencing major shape-shifting as the project rolled on.

“Artificial Revolution is a strong album that has the classic Curimus thrash metal aggression but lighter and melodic nuances, as well, and all of it end up making the album an even more crushing piece of thrash than ever before.”

A lyric video for the album’s first single “Preachings” can be viewed below. The track listing is as follows:

1. Reincarnation
2. Free-Standing Nation
3. No Feast For The Vultures
4. Faith & Obsession
5. Love Song
6. In The Darkness
7. 07 Blade In – Blood Out
8. Preachings
9. Unchained
10. Depraved
11. Born Yesterday
