Dillinger Escape Plan Issues First Statement Since Bus Crash

After a serious bus crash in Poland over the weekend, The Dillinger Escape Plan has now issued this update about the situation:

“By now I’m sure many of you have already heard the news, but we wanted to communicate to you all directly. Not just to express the fact that nobody is in critical condition, but to express our gratitude to the fans who have seen us or who were going to see us on this tour, the crew who was also in the accident with us and part of why things have been going so smoothly, the various promoters and venue staff, Live Nation Poland who have been so helpful in the last 38 hours, the many police and medics and emergency workers who came to the scene, the hospital workers, and the friends and family who have reached out to us personally since yesterday morning.

“We were in the middle of playing some of our favorite shows we’ve ever played, and having a better time on and off stage than we have in a long time.

“We were ripped out of sleep at 8:25AM to what still feels like a lucid nightmare. The cacophony of metal bending and things breaking and people screaming and what felt like being hit by a missile. Without going into detail, not everyone is out of the hospital yet, some of us are hurt worse than others.

“Questions like why did this happen, why are we alive and others not, why are the people from the Bay Area fire dead, why at all is anyone here or not. What the hell is all of this. Remember how valuable life is. We are all lucky to be alive. To just have any time at all.

“Anyway, thanks to you all for caring. We were truly having an amazing time and we’re blessed to have you all, such a high caliber group of people. It’s been an honor to play these shows, but we unfortunately have to cancel the remainder of them. We will reschedule every one that we can, and we’ll update more when we can.”

Kult Ov Azazel Announces U.S. Tour Dates With Wormreich

U.S. black metal band Kult Of Azazel and Wormreich are joining forces for the “Archons Ov Darkness” tour this coming May. Kult Ov Azazel guitarist / vocalist Xaphan comments:

“After a year of down time, we are looking forward to getting back out in a live setting, playing some new music, as well as old, and just as importantly picking up where we left off with Wormreich last year due to the accident they were involved in. But most of all, this is just the rebirth. We’re back in full force and ready to leave blazing, scorched paths of annihilation to all four corners of the Earth. We’ve returned. Expect us…”

Womreich’s Vulk adds: “We in Wormreich are incredibly excited to take part in the Archons ov Darkness mini-tour. As some may know, at around this time last year we were touring with Kult ov Azazel during the ill-fated Reich ov Khaos tour. To us, this is redemption and a chance to set things right with our brothers in KoA. Now that Alpha Omega is involved, we know that this run will be a success. Wormreich is sharpening its’ blades in order to wreak havoc on the world once again, so fucking beware!”

Strains Posts “White Chains” Lyric Video

Famined Records’ newest signing – the Belgian metal/hardcore outfit Strains – has just released a new single off forthcoming label debut “Redefine[d].”

“White Chains” is off the Aljoscha Sieg-recorded EP that will be released June 30th with vocalist Maarten Janssen commenting, “We took our time to get the best out of this first EP and are more than happy with the record we’ve been able to create.”

Maarten continued by revealing, “In 2007 I suffered from an accident that put me in the hospital in complete isolation for several months, undergoing over 10 surgeries. This accident changed everything I stood for and knew of life at that point. Every track of ‘Redefine[d]’ tells a part of my story starting at how I now look at the life I led before the accident to today where I analyze the whole process I underwent and my look at the future. Although the lyrics are quite personal, I still feel they’re abstract enough for other people to relate to the daily struggles that changed me as a person in every aspect.”

The track listing is as follows:

1. The Great Disconnect
2. 13/04
3. White Chains
4. Infinite
5. Acceptance
