Suidakra Reveals New Album, “Cimbric Yarns” Release Date

German Celtic metal veterans Suidakra has announced that their new album, “Cimbric Yarns” will be released through AFM Records on November 16th. Instead of their characteristic bombastic melodic death metal, the musicians impress with an acoustic, ambient masterpiece that takes the audience into a mystical land far before time.

Based on a fantasy world which was created during the artwork/soundtrack collaboration between the painter Kris Verwimp and Antonik on Realms Of Odoric, the Belgian artist explains: “Continuing the Realms Of Odoric saga, Cimbric Yarns harks back to where it all began. Thousands of years before Odoric’s time, there existed an advanced civilisation that perished in a great cosmic cataclysm. Cimbric Yarns is an attempt at recreating its mythology, inspired by ancient Celtic texts and megalithic sites from all over the world. It weaves a fine thread between history and fantasy, chronicling the fate of its main characters Cruàc, Arma and Aenea in 10 compelling acoustic songs.”

Tracklisting:

1. Echtra
2. Serpentine Origins
3. Ode To Arma
4. A Day And Forever
5. Black Dawn
6. At Nine Light Night
7. Snakehenge
8. Birth And Despair
9. Assault On Urlár
10. Caoine Cruác

The album will be available as Digipak and clear orange, gatefold Vinyl (ltd. to 300 units.)

Hamferð releases live video of “Stygd”

– September 27th, 2018 –

Set to play shows in Europe next week!

Faroese doomsters Hamferð have released a live recorded video of “Stygd”, the 2nd track from their new album, Támsins likam, released on Metal Blade earlier this year. The song is part of the recorded album release show on March 17th, 2018 at the old Sjonleikarahusið theater in Torshavn, Faroe Islands. To watch the clip, please visit: youtube.com/watch?v=pLtwVGB7f60

Támsins likam was played in its entirety, as well as a selection of older songs, including “Odn” – the band’s very first song, which, although being a live staple, was never released.

Singer Jon Aldara comments: “This concert was a meticulous production in regards to performance, sound and lighting, and we felt it was the perfect opportunity to record it properly. It’s a great feeling to have a live recording of Hamferð that does not come from an iPhone or from a festival production that we had little to no control over. We took everything in our own hands and went the whole nine yards with a brilliant crew, well-considered stage design and all the high-end equipment we could get our hands on. Luckily, I really think it shows!”

Hamferð will play a selection of shows in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands in October:
Oct. 2 – Stuttgart, Germany – Club Zentral (w. Egonaut)
Oct. 3 – Leipzig, Germany – Hellraiser (w. Egonaut)
Oct. 4 – Hamburg, Germany – Bambi Galore (w. Egonaut)
Oct. 5 – Paderborn, Germany – Metal Inferno Festival
Oct. 6 – Saint Georges, Belgium – From Dusk til Doom 4
Oct. 7 – Tilburg, Netherlands – Little Devil

Additionally, Hamferð will head out on a tour of Scandinavia in December, notably playing Sweden for the first time in their 10-year long career. See below for dates:

When writing about A New Kind Of Horror in the record’s liner notes, Anaal Nathrakh vocalist Dave Hunt is succinct in his description: “This is not a happy album, it is bitter, vengeful, sarcastic, sardonic, violent, terrified and horrified, terrifying and horrifying in equal measure. Above all, it is human, and all that that entails. It’s as sincere as we could make it.” Those exposed to the ten tracks comprising the band’s tenth full-length will be unable to deny the truth to these words, for lyrically, musically and sonically it is a punishing listen mired in darkness and seething with raw emotion. With multi-instrumentalist Mick Kenney pushing their distinctive hybrid of symphonic black metal, death metal, industrial and grindcore ever forward, Hunt draws lyrical inspiration primarily from the horrors of the First World War, contemporary politics, and the letters of D.H. Lawrence, creating one of the most powerful, timely and unique releases of 2018. “There’s a lot that goes into our albums, of course, but it all comes about as a natural result of who we are, and for ‘A New Kind of Horror‘ we felt early on that it was clearly its own thing. It doesn’t have to stand in comparison with anything, because to us it’s in a class of its own.”

Behemoth launches video for new single, “Wolves ov Siberia”

– September 5th, 2018 –

“It doesn’t get more blasphemous than this,” declares Behemoth mastermind Nergal, about the band’s upcoming album, I Loved You At Your Darkest – due out October 5th via Metal Blade Records (North America) / Nuclear Blast (Europe). While it certainly seems an unlikely title for a black metal band, its origin might surprise fans even more than the words themselves. “It’s a verse from the Bible,” Nergal reveals. “It’s actually a quote from Jesus Christ himself. For Behemoth to use it as the basis of our record, it’s sacrilege to the extreme.”

A crushing salvo of black metal majesty replete with hellish riffs, thundering drum cannonades and soaring liturgical choirs reminiscent of classic horror cinema, I Loved You At Your Darkest is the group’s most dynamic record yet: extreme and radical on one hand, but also more rock-oriented than any other Behemoth release. Produced by the band themselves, with drum co-production by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames), mixing by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Children Of Bodom) mastering by Tom Baker (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson), and a 17-piece Polish orchestra arranged by Jan Stoklosa, I Loved You At Your Darkest can be pre-ordered now at: metalblade.com/behemoth – where the video for the new single, “Wolves Ov Siberia” (directed by Kyle Kadow and Steven Cleavland), can also be viewed. The following formats are available in the USA, along with an exclusive t-shirt:

–jewelcase CD
–digibook CD (hardcover digibook, 40 page booklet)
–baltic amber vinyl (limited to 600 copies)
–opaque white w/ gold splatter vinyl (Metal Blade Records exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–black / gold split vinyl (Metal Blade Records exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–clear w/ smoky black swirl (Nuclear Blast US exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–clear w/ grey inside (Kings Road exclusive – limited to 500 copies)
–”God = Dog” 7″ picture disc (Metal Blade Records exclusive – limited to 666 copies)

Nergal comments: “‘Wolves Ov Siberia’ was the first song unveiled from ILYAYD, we began playing it on tour in May of this year – the raw energy and dynamism of the song lent itself perfectly to a live context! The studio version doesn’t lose those fundamentals and now with our added intricacies, you will be able to hear the call to Ancient times…the devil is in the detail, after all.
The video was purposefully very different from the well-recognised, Behemoth aesthetic – I wanted it to be chaotic, frenzied yet beautiful…I think this is mission accomplished and we’re really happy with the final product from Kyle Kadow and Steven Cleavland! Enjoy it!”

To watch the video for the first single, “God = Dog” (directed by Grupa 13 / http://www.grupa13.com), head over to: youtube.com/watch?v=iI2y_mi7jDI

Bearers of the NWOBHM movement and responsible for ’83′s seminal Court In the Act and ’87′s Suspended Sentence, Satan make it abundantly clear with their upcoming new album that in 2018, they are not interested in simply capitalizing on past glories. Comprised of 10 tracks of searing metal, it is blatantly and profoundly the work of the Newcastle upon Tyne natives at their very best, infusing their signature sound with a more raw, wild and spontaneous vibe than they showcased on 2015′s mighty Atom By Atom – and in the process, displaying more passion and energy than slews of bands half their age.

Tracking the album at First Avenue Studio, they further demonstrated their trust and rapport with past collaborators, recruiting engineer Dave Curle and Dario Mollo to handle the mix, letting them handle the technical side of things so the quintet could focus all of their energies on giving the best performances. Confident in the songs they had written and how they wanted them to sound made the process a very easy one, walking out of the studio with a record of which they are understandably proud, and will reign supreme in the speakers and headphones of metalheads the world over when it drops in September. “We truly feel we’ve got it 100% right this time, the balance between considered content and reckless performance. We always break loose on stage so why not on record?”

Cruel Magic track-listing:
1. Into The Mouth Of Eternity

4. Legions Hellbound
5. Ophidian

Allstar death metal band Siege Of Power releases third single, “Violence In The Air”

– August 28th, 2018 –

On September 7th, Metal Blade Records will release Warning Blast, the debut album by multinational allstar death metallers Siege Of Power! For a preview of Warning Blast, the third single, “Violence In The Air”, can be heard now at: youtube.com/watch?v=hMxVZlvX-Z8

The band comments: “‘Violence in the Air’ is the 3rd single of our album ‘Warning Blast‘. A short midtempo track, which is a bit more beatdown crossover – which displays a good view on what Siege Of Power is all about.”

For another preview of Warning Blast, head over to metalblade.com/siegeofpower – where the videos for the first two singles, “The Cold Room” and “Mushroom Cloud Altar”, can be viewed, and the album can be pre-ordered in the following formats:

–ltd. Digipak-CD w/2 bonus tracks
–180g black vinyl
–cool grey marbled vinyl (limited to 300 copies – EU exclusive)
–slate blue-marbled vinyl (limited to 200 copies – EU exclusive)
–clear smoky white-marbled vinyl (limited to 200 copies – US exclusive)

Siege Of Power is:
Chris Reifert – Vocals (Autopsy, Violation Wound, Abscess, Painted Doll)
Paul Baayens – Guitars (Asphyx, ex-Hail of Bullets, Thanatos)
Theo van Eekelen – Bass (ex-Hail of Bullets, ex-Houwitser, ex-Grand Supreme Blood Court)
Bob Bagchus – Drums (ex-Asphyx, Soulburn, ex-Grand Supreme Blood Court)

No bullshit compromises of any kind whatsoever. That’s what Siege Of Power is all about! Siege Of Power started in 2013 as a project without any expectations. Shortly after releasing a split album it was left for dead, buried and almost forgotten until the rotten corpse was exhumed in 2017. This resulted in a no-nonsense extreme metal album mixed with several doomdozers. Influences vary from Carnivore and SOD to Discharge and Amebix, done in their own style.

Warning Blast track-listing
1. Conquest for What?
2. For the Pain
3. Bulldozing Skulls
4. Born into Hate
5. Torture Lab
6. Uglification
