New Song “VII” Available From Until The Sky Dies

Avant-metal duo Until The Sky Dies offers “VII” – the seventh track on the band’s debut and dystopian concept album, “The Year Zero Blueprint” – through an exclusive premiere at Svbterranean, as the LP nears release through Cimmerian Shade Recordings. Check it out over here, or just down in the player below.

“The Year Zero Blueprint” will be issued on CD, LP (limited to 300 hand-numbered copies), and digital platforms on November 3rd via Cmmerian Shade Recordings.

“The Year Zero Blueprint: consists of expansive and diverse songs named only by sequential Roman Numerals. The tracks brim with bold audio exploration, with many elements of a wide range of genres converging seamlessly into a dystopian concept documenting mankind’s rebuilding of society after an impending collapse.

“The Year Zero Blueprint” was recorded and engineered by Ryan Michalski at RPM Studios in Tampa Florida, and mastered by J. Stillings (Steel Hook Prostheses, Metaconqueror, Pharoid, Vermin) at Steel Hook Audio Mastering.

Notes founder Clint Listing of the song, “This is the darkest and most aggressive track on album concluding in the epic battle of our story.”

Many words come to mind when you hear the name Cannibal Corpse, but one truly defines the soon-to-be thirty-year death metal veterans: Unstoppable. Produced by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, Goatwhore), Red Before Black serves to not only reiterate this but to once more raise the stakes, making it very clear who sets the standard when it comes to always compelling music that is equally brutal and complex. Moreover, the band have pushed themselves again, ensuring that it stands out from their catalog. “Throughout our career we’ve tried to improve the precision of both our musical execution and our album production, while still maintaining full-on aggression. ‘Red Before Black‘ continues in that direction, but might go even further on the aggressive side of things. It’s definitely precise, but it has a rawness to it that goes beyond anything we’ve done recently,” asserts bassist Alex Webster. “We really worked super hard crafting these songs, practicing them, and getting them where we wanted to be more so than on any of our previous albums,” adds drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz. “And as Alex said, musically I think it’s the most raw sound we’ve had – and at the same time I think it’s our most focused, tightest and catchiest record.”

Live Stream Of New Album Release Show Announced By Satyricon

Only one duo is able to evoke sinister settings like the world of bleak woods lurking behind Norwegian wafts of mist. And that duo is legendary Satyricon. Formed in Oslo in 1991, Satyricon made an immediate and enduring impact when emerging from the flourishing Norwegian black metal scene.

With the brand new opus titled “Deep calleth upon Deep,” the iconic masters Satyr and Frost properly dispense the darkest art of metal. Satyricon’s highly anticipated ninth studio album will be coming out this Friday, September 22nd, on Napalm Records.

To celebrate the upcoming record, the band will play an exclusive and very special album release show – on the rooftop of the KLP building in the heart of Oslo!

300 fans will exclusively experience Satyricon live at this very special event, but the release concert will also be streamed live to fans around the world, before the band leaves for an extensive world tour!

“I always thought the Beatles gig on top of the Apple building in London, 1969, was such an intriguing thing and it really feels like a privilege to be able to do something like this ourselves. In our hometown too! Since this is to celebrate the release of “Deep calleth upon Deep”, we don’t want to exclude those who can’t be there with us that night, so I’m glad it’s being streamed worldwide. We’ll play the whole record and we’ll do it in style!” Satyricon frontman & visionary Satyr informs us.

Save the date and make sure to check into Satyricon’s Facebook page this Friday, September 22nd at 9pm CEST, when the masters of dark art will take over the city of Oslo for one of the most special shows to date!

Rather than meticulously plan things out or stick rigidly to any kind of template, when it comes to writing, The Black Dahlia Murder prefer to let things happen organically. In the hands of guitarist Brian Eschbach – who co-founded the band with front-man Trevor Strnad in 2001 – and new recruit Brandon Ellis (Arsis, ex-Cannabis Corpse), Nightbringers is rich with dynamic riffs that are at once fresh and classic The Black Dahlia Murder, resulting in a collection that shifts through many moods and effortlessly incorporates various elements of extreme metal. While Strnad explores a variety of themes and ideas with his lyrics, they are united by the album’s title, which embraces a tenet that has been central to The Black Dahlia Murder‘s output since the very beginning. “Death metal and nighttime are synonymous to me,” Strnad explains. “We are the rulers of the darkened hours that the Christian good fears. A lot of archaic ideas that are still upheld – such as marriage and monogamy – came from Christianity, whether people want to acknowledge it or not, and to me, death metal has always been bucking that. It’s ‘being-the-villain music’, because we’re the enemy of Christianity, the enemy of all that is good and traditional. Death metal is for free thinkers, it’s for showing people the path to inner strength and operating on your own will, instead of being told what to do and living in fear, and songs like the title track and ‘Kings Of The Nightworld’ are about leading a legion of awakened minds into battle.”
