Mantar Teases New Music Video, “Taurus”

German black/doom/punk chimera Mantar will release their third studio album The Modern Art Of Setting Ablaze on August 24th via Nuclear Blast. Pre-order the album here, and check out a teaser for the upcoming “Taurus” music video below.

Mantar have achieved more in five years than most bands twice their age and size. The product of a twenty year friendship between guitarist/vocalist Hanno Klaenhardt and drummer Erinc Sakarya, theirs is a success story born entirely of one thing: hard work, with three albums, an EP and a live release already to their name. Releasing their 2014 Svart Records debut Death By Burning, an uncompromising clash of stripped-back punk attitude and metal intensity to instant critical acclaim, the band toured relentlessly, gracing stages the world over, including the hallowed likes of Roadburn, Wacken Open Air and Maryland Deathfest. They used 2016’s Ode To The Flame, their Nuclear Blast Records debut, to further build upon their incendiary live reputation, conquering not only Europe and the US, but Russia, Japan and South Africa.

Now, following a brief period of repose which saw Hanno move to Florida, Mantar return with The Modern Art Of Setting Ablaze, a short, sharp shock that hones the hungry riffs and breath-taking pace of their previous records. “We skipped the bullshit,” explains Hanno. “I wanted 3 or 4 minute songs; bam, bam, bam. Every song different, catchy – that’s what rock and roll is about.”

Cauldron Posts New Song, “Never Be Found” Online

Canadian metal trio Cauldron will release their long-awaited fifth studio album entitled “New Gods” on September 7 through Dissonance Productions in Europe and. For the follow up to their critically-acclaimed 2016 album “In Ruin”, Jason Decay (lead vocals/bass), Ian Chains (guitar) and Myles Deck (drums) together with producer Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre, Wooden Sky) honed and recorded the songs at Union Sound in Toronto for what would become “New Gods”. “New Gods”, the group’s fifth full-length studio record, once again promises a strong emphasis on songwriting and melody, complete with high-end organic production to match.

“I am very proud of the songwriting, performances and production on this one, and it is definitely the most confident I have been in a finished album of ours. It is dark, it’s heavy and it has a very melodic sense of AOR. Most importantly, it still sounds very Cauldron. I’m pretty sure people who were into In Ruin will like this one just as much if not more!” says Decay.

Plini Premiere New Video “Salt + Charcoal” – New EP “Sunhead” To Be Released This Month

Plini has a new EP called “Sunhead” scheduled for a July 27th release. Below you can check out a video for the a first song titled “Charcoal And Dust” from it. The track features guest backing vocals and production from Skyharbor‘s Devesh Dayal.

Speaking of how the effort came to be, Plini himself commented:

“I started working on the material almost straight after ‘Handmade Cities‘ was released in 2016, sort of with the goal to make a very big, small EP – aiming to put as much detail and refinement into the composition and playing as possible. Both musically and emotionally, the music is greatly influenced by the amount of touring and travel I’ve done in the past couple of years.

I was particularly inspired by Animals As Leaders (who I toured Europe and North America with in 2016), by the musical adventurousness in their last album, and Disperse (who I toured with in Europe in early 2017) for the way they seamlessly combined contemporary pop and electronic elements with prog-metal – updating a genre that sometimes seems (ironically for the name, “progressive”) entrenched in old musical cliches.

Aside from this, I think the ‘Sunhead‘ EP is a musical expression of the pure excitement that comes with traveling to new places, meeting new people and eating new things.”

August will find Plini out playing the following European/UK shows:

08/10 Karlovy Vary, CZE – Musicians Festival
08/11 Josefov, CZE – Brutal Assault
08/14 Budapest, HUN – A38 Roof
08/15 Krakow, POL – Alchemia
08/16 Warsaw, POL – Hydrozagadka
08/18 Somerset, UK – ArcTanGent Festival
08/19 London, UK – Islington Assembly Hall
08/22 Mosta, MLT – Razzett L’Ahmar

Redemption launches video for new single, “Someone Else’s Problem”, online

– July 10th, 2018 –

On July 27th, Redemption will release their seventh full-length album, Long Night’s Journey into Day – the first to be produced with Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Primal Fear, Amaranthe, Doro, etc.). For a preview of Long Night’s Journey into Day, the band has launched a video for the new single, “Someone Else’s Problem” (directed by Patric Ulleaus / Revolver Films; Evergrey, Amaranthe, Dimmu Borgir, Europe, Arch Enemy), which can be viewed at: youtube.com/watch?v=QQKHm_l-vcc

For another preview of Long Night’s Journey into Day, the previous singles – “Little Men” and “Indulge In Color” – can be heard now at: metalblade.com/redemption – where the record can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:

– ltd. first edition Digipak-CD with 2 exclusive bonus tracks
– jewel-case CD
– 180g black vinyl
– navy-blue/red marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
– transparent light blue marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
– marine blue/green marbled vinyl (US exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
* exclusive bundles with a shirt, plus digital options are also available!

The follow-up to 2016′s The Art Of Loss, which van Dyk counts amongst Redemption‘s very best, Long Night’s Journey Into Day is inarguably the sound of a band at the height of their powers. As followers of Redemption are also aware, it is the first full-length since the departure of vocalist Ray Alder, and features the debut of Evergrey vocalist Tom Englund. “We were unable to tour ‘The Art Of Loss‘ because Ray was not able to actively participate in Redemption any longer, so we decided it was time to part company shortly after its release. Ray is a dear friend, and I have nothing but respect and love for him and what we created together. But at some point, it just became untenable.” Of course, Alder’s shoes were not exactly going to be easy to fill, and it was essential that his successor be someone who would immediately command respect, as well as somebody who could exceed expectations when it came to performance. Moreover, it was integral that they had someone who could fully invest in the lyrical themes concerning the human condition, which have always been central to Redemption. So, the fact that from the beginning of his career Englund has penned lyrics about feelings of doubt, fear and despair with an unshakable emotional authenticity made him the perfect choice. “Because of the power of his voice and the emotion he brings, this isn’t going to be a shocking transition for fans. Tom’s also a very versatile vocalist, and being a songwriter, he has a tremendous melodic and compositional sensibility, and on top of that, we’ve known each other for many years, and there is a level of not just professional respect but personal friendship to it all.”

Guitarists Chris Poland (Megadeth, OHM) and Simone Mularoni (DGM) return as guest musicians. When it came to backing up the music with visuals, the band once again turned to a longtime collaborator, Travis Smith, whose humbling resumé includes records by bands such as Art Of Defiance, Opeth and Iced Earth.

Long Night’s Journey into Day track-listing
1. Eyes You Dare Not Meet in Dreams
2. Someone Else’s Problem
