As “Sterilize,” the eighth album by NYC noise rock trio Unsane, bulldozes towards release at the end of the month, today a new single titled “The Grind” comes online.

Closing a five-year gap since the 2012 release of the Alternative Tentacles-issued “Wreck” LP, Unsane makes a vicious return with “Sterilize,” a record that recalls the most defining elements of the band’s seminal albums.

Of “The Grind,” Unsane guitarist/vocalist Chris Spencer declares: “This is the drum crusher we’ve been looking forward to doing live! A song about living to the fullest while you’ve got the chance.”

Goatwhore Recording New Album

Goatwhore has confirmed that the band will be on the road in April as part of the Metal Alliance Tour 2014, supporting headliners Behemoth, along with other supporting acts 1349, Inquisition, and Black Crown Initiate. Get full details at this location.

In other news, Goatwhore has returned to Mana Recording studios this month with producer Erik Rutan to record a sixth full-length album. Fans can follow Goatwhore’s progress via updates at Facebook here, which includes exclusive photos and videos.

Goatwhore’s new album will be the follow up to the band’s 2012 release, “Blood for the Master” (reviewed here).

Klone Releases New Music Video For “Rocket Smoke”

Poitiers, France-based metal act Klone has launched an official music video for “Rocket Smoke,” taken from the band’s 2012 release “The Dreamer’s Hideaway.”

The video was directed by Ami Bornstein and features live footage from the band’s recent European tour supporting Orphaned Land. Check it out below.

After the Hammer Open Air gig in 2011, Finnish act Caught In The Between took some time off to compose material for third full length album “The Asylum.” The album is set for release in the late spring of 2013, but the band now offers some new material and additional bonus songs with the 2012 release of the “Horselike/Godlike” EP.

German folk metal act Finsterforst posted an album preview for the band’s forthcoming third full length LP “Rastlos.” The album is scheduled for a November 23, 2012 release through Napalm Records. The five mighty and overlong songs present themselves as a sweeping diversity of melodies and moods. Finsterforst combine melancholic folklore, untamed Black Metal fury with majestic soundscapes, thus giving the songs a hypnotic dynamic. This particular effect is strengthened by the sophisticated and fitting use of authentic instruments like the accordion or a full horn section.
