New Album On The Way From Amaranthe As Band Enters Studio

Swedish melodic metal forerunners Amaranthe has officially entered the studio to work on the follow up to 2014’s breakthrough album “Massive Addictive,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart upon release and which enjoyed healthy U.S. rock radio airplay in support of the singles “Drop Dead Cynical” and “Digital World.”

The new album is due out on Spinefarm in October. Watch the teaser below.

Amaranthe will spend the summer laying waste to stages at all of the relevant European rock festivals before embarking on a near-constant global touring schedule after the album’s release.

“As some of you no doubt have heard by now, we have entered Top Floor studios with Jakob Herrman in Gothenburg to record our fourth album,” said guitarist Olof Morck. “It is extremely exciting to be back in the creative zone after spending two years traveling the whole world in support of ‘Massive Addictive.’ We will spend one month here recording drums, bass and guitars before once again moving onto Jacob Hansen’s studio in Denmark for vocal recordings and mixing.”

He continued, “We are beyond thrilled about the new material, which is certainly Amaranthe’s most diverse so far; our trademark bleeding edge modern metal is ever present, but fused with an even wider range of genres than before, featuring everything from stadium rock, the latest in pop music innovation and danceable super-hits. Expect these tunes to enter your mind permanently, never to leave, later this year!”

New Track, Album Details Available From Centinex

Swedish old-school death metal act Centinex is going to release a new album titled “Doomsday Rituals” on July 8th via Agonia Records. Along with the street date, the band has revealed the first new song – “Exist to Feed” – which is available for streaming in the player below.

Centinex originated in 1990 as a riff-oriented part of the classic Swedish death metal movement and disbanded in 2005 after releasing eighth full-length albums. In 2014, the band surprisingly resurfaced with a refreshed line-up of Martin Schulman (Demonical) on bass, Sverker Widgren (Demonical, Diabolical) on guitars, Alexander Högbom (October Tide, Spasmodic) on vocals and Kennet Englund (Interment, Centinex 1999-2003) on drums. Year 2014 also saw the release of the comeback record, “Redeeming Filth.”

The band doesn’t want the fans to be kept waiting another near-decade for a new album. Titled “Doomsday Rituals”, the record is a natural follow-up to “Redeeming Filth”. Martin Schulman (bass) commented: “Heavy riffing, deep brutal vocals, everything from slow via mid-tempo to faster stuff, a perfect mix of the early 90’s Florida and Stockholm sound”.

“Doomsday Rituals” was recorded at Wing Studios with Sverker Widgren (Centinex, Demonical, Diabolical) behind the knobs. The cover artwork was made by Bahrull Marta of Abomination Imagery.

The track list for the album is:

1. Flesh Passion
2. From Intact to Broken
3. Dismemberment Supreme
4. Generation of Flies
5. The Shameful Few
6. Doomsday
7. Exist to Feed
8. Death Decay Murder
9. Sentenced to Suffer
10. Faceless

Tesseract Announces Tour Edition Of “Polaris” With Bonus “Errai” CD

To coincide with TesseracT touring the U.S. alongside Gojira in September/October (see full dates here), Kscope will be releasing a 2 disc tour edition of the “Polaris” studio album on September 16th.

The new 2016 edition of “Polaris” will be released with bonus second disc “Errai,” which features four re-worked tracks: “Survival,” “Cages,” “Tourniquet,” and “Seven Names.” The tracks have been re-imagined by the band’s long time live producer and sound engineer Aidan O’Brien.

He says on being asked to work on the project: “I’ve been lucky enough to contribute to various bits of TesseracT material since the ‘Perspective’ EP back in 2012, but it was a thrill and an honour to be asked to have a much more involved role in working on reimagining four of the tracks from ‘Polaris.’ Being given the chance to offer my interpretations of the songs at the core of these wonderfully nuanced and complex arrangements, as well as the chance to work closely with such talented musicians, was hugely exciting and I’m extremely proud of the results. It’s still unmistakably TesseracT, but from an angle I think a lot of people won’t have heard before.”

TessaracT vocalist Dan Tompkins comments: “It’s been fantastic to re-visit & re-work the vocals to some of the ‘Polaris’ tracks from a different angle and with the benefit of time and space. The normal process of writing TesseracT songs starts with the creation of the music followed by the lyrical content; this time Acle and Aidan have stripped away the music and re-created the songs based around the vocals. As a result this has allowed much more breathing space between both and also highlighted much more detail in the performance.”

The “Polaris” tour edition will be released as a 2 CD set, with “Errai” being released as a stand-alone 180g heavyweight clear vinyl with enclosed download code. Pre-order starts on May 27th, 2016.
